Default AHHH!!! I think my clutch is slipping.

Lets say I am moving (about 35 - 40mph), I shift from 3rd to 4th gear, then I hit the gas a little and fully engage the clutch and the RPMs keep going up for a second, then they drop. That would sound like a clutch slipping, huh?

I hope it is not anything the with the transmision... That would suck.

So... Long story short, I am broke, how much should I look for when purchasing a new clutch. I will also have to get it installed.

Specs:
2000 Impreza 2.5RS.
~75,000 miles.
The clutch appeared to slip twice while driving to work this morning. Once when I noticied it and second when I tried to make it happen.

yeah, that is a clutch. If you can get a replacement clutch, pressure plate, resurfaced flywhel and new bearings installed for under $1,000 you got a good deal.
