It took the Ascent 1 year of full production to outsell the entire 9 year miserable run of B9 Tribeca/Tribeca. RIP Becky.

I am now interested to see how low BRZ sales can get before we see/get the next one.
Ascent sales should tell Subaru something. Previously if they tried something and it failed; they tossed it aside and gave no further thought. They tried to do that with the Tribeca. Say thank you to the dealers for pressing them at EVERY meeting about a replacement. So, they went in with a list of things to fix.....fixed every single one of them and look at the rewards..... Now, maybe they will think about a Baja replacement and a resurrection of the SVX type car. Would really love a modern Justy; but, I can be realistic. |

I'd like to see who the 167 people who bought a BRZ are. I honestly can't imagine buying one brand new in 2019. The fact that they sold that many is astounding by itself.

I seriously doubt the dealers care about that more than that's how Subaru got their MPG increase, being one facet of why sales have done what they've done. Ascent is probably their biggest hit out of the box. Ever.

A next gen WRX could literally be the same car on the new platform with some extra HP and Id buy another.. esp if a hatch. Bonus points for raising suspension or making a proper WRX/STI trim for the crosstrek. and Bonus points for ventilated seats. STI = another story of course... |

Baja remake could be based off the Ascent. SVX could be a stretched Legacy. I've been really enjoying my Kia Cadenza, which is basically a bigger Optima (with a bigger engine & luxury touches added), though the Stinger is a bit more like the B11S concept from a hundred years ago (er, almost 20). If Kia can do it, Subaru can do it. |

A Just-e truck/van with retro styling would be hard to pass up.

Cool idea but it wouldn't be a "Justy".
I agree, though, that it's dead cause Subaru doesn't do their own non-boxer engines anymore, correct? I wasn't a Justy lover after 1994. |

People just don't really want sedans right now. CUVs and SUVs all day! Unless it's more entry-level than a base Impreza sedan, like a Yaris competitor? FB16DIT Justy that's more compact than the Impreza, maybe even as a 3-door hatch, but still can mount roof racks? Kinda hot. Definitely a commuter car that edges closer to European sensibilities.

The concept looked really good! Update: https://www.grandtournation.com/cars...2-with-300bhp/ ...but probably will be more like this: https://www.motor1.com/news/266747/t...-return-rumor/ Last edited by Sub!eDr!ver; 08-08-2019 at 05:01 PM. |

I'm not sure. I don't recall the size limitations of the SGP. I think I recall that it doesn't accommodate the BRZ. I don't understand the architecture enough to know why it couldn't be shrunk down. Part of my brain just thought that maybe something smaller than the Impreza wouldn't be as safe? But then if it's smaller, doesn't that mean it's more sturdy? Although, Subaru really likes their crumple zones, so I guess it makes sense that they don't wanna go too small. Gotta let these passengers live, yo.

I could easily see a mid-engine STI coupe. Especially if it incorporates the lost Prodrive P1 components. |

The last two years I've gone to Wicked Big Meet, I bug Subaru reps about a possible turbo Crosstrek. They tell me if sales slow down, the potential and possibility is there, but production is maxed out as it is, so it isn't a priority right now.
If I can't buy a 5-door WRX at least hit me with the option of a turbo'd Crosstrek. If more and more safety tech is made standard equipment and prices keep going up, I'll just buy out my '18 Crosstrek 6spd. I'll accept more power if it means loosing the stick. But I do not want to deal with Eyesight. |

EyeSight wouldn't even be a thought for good drivers. Problem with EyeSight? Might want to look at your driving.
General statement to all with that kind of comment. Don't like EyeSight for the cost you don't want? That's completely different. |

I don't have a problem with Eyesight as a safety system. I think it's great. What I don't think is great is when it's foisted on me as a consumer, and I have to pay more for my car because it comes with a host of fancy safety features that I don't want. I know it's the future. Cars are marching towards autonomy. I get all that, and I respect the technology and the advancements that have been made. I just hope, when my lease is up, that I'll be able to get into another Impreza, WRX (only if there's a five-door option) or Crosstrek that doesn't have Eyesight as standard. I'm not getting my hopes up. |
