Our forester is nearing 48k miles and my wife said the brakes aren't quite as good as when we bought it. ( we bought it used and was told were the second owner.)

So again, I'm turning to the forum to ask. What is recommended as far as braking goes. Its not a race machine and isn't used to much ( my wifes ride.)

Wasn't sure if I can just relace the pads, or if I should put something aftermarket on. Or replace brake fluid and lines.
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

does it vibrate when braking? how do the rotors look? if it doesnt vibrate and the rotors look ok you can just get pads. i got my set from tire rack. hawk hps is a good street pad.

It doesn't vibrate at all. Just isn't as grippy.

if it's been over 2 years i would flush the break fluid as well. replace your pads first

Is oem fine or should I go with something like stoptech or hawk hps. And standard brake fluid or is there something better?

why would you take off the Spec C style wheels that came on those? I was looking for a set of those wheels for a while. I finally just gave up since they probably won't fit over a BBK.

They are only 17x7,.....not wide enough for me. That and the BBK reason as well
