Default Subispeed WRX RSP Lumbar Support cushion review

Recently bought this product, after wifey kept complaining about how the WRX ride is stiff and the lack of passenger seat lumbar support makes for an uncomfortable experience on long trips. So I was left to choose between buying a good seat cushion or being forced to take our second car (Santa Fe) for longer trips. I haven’t seen reviews of this product on any forums or on Subispeed website, so thought I would post it here in case anyone is considering it. I bought this after purchasing (and returning) a couple of lumbar seat cushions from Amazon that didn’t work too well on the WRX.
The price seems a bit too much for a piece of cushion (~$70 with shipping), but the product is well built and works nicely. Fits the seat perfectly since it is designed for the WRX (they also have an STI version). Provides good lumbar support (I have a Limited version that has lumbar support, but this cushion makes it even more comfortable) and does not slip. Overall, happy with the product (more importantly, as is my wife -***128522; ), but do think it is a bit pricey.

What was wrong with the Amazon ones? How is the Subispeed one different?

The ones I bought from Amazon would not fit firmly in the seat, and it would move around a bit. The height was also not sufficient. These come with wrap-around belts to supposedly attach the cushion firmly to the seat, but I didnt think it helped on the WRX that has angled side supports on the seats. Having said that, Amazon and other sellers have a lot of options so you may be able to find something that fits well for the WRX if you look.

The thing I like the most about the Subispeed version is how it fits snug and tight into the seat (so you dont have to adjust it each time you sit down), and it is thick enough to provide good lower back support. The latter is probably a matter of individual preference - I like the extra thick cushion and hopefully the extra thicknesses is useful as a buffer since cushions do compress a bit over time. Even if it does compress a bit, it should still be thick enough to prove useful in the long run.

Yes - a tiny bit. So I do have to move the car seat backward a bit when I use the cushion.

Default Subispeed WRX RSP Lumbar Support cushion review

Just FYI in case anyone else ends up looking to pull the trigger on this, I think I found the exact support (non branded) on amazon (cheaper and better returns than subispeed if it sucks).

I can post a flow up on how it fits it anyone is interested.
