Can anyone recommend a good upholstery shop in the SLC area? Looing to have some additional thigh support added (extend and raise seat cushion) and possibly a leather steering wheel cover.

Thanks,
Garrett

I want to change the oil to the WRX and I want to put Rotella T6 5W40.

Does anyone know a place where they use it or anywhere to bring my own oil?

Thank you!

I don't have an answer to your question, but why don't you just change your own oil? Like it's pretty freaking easy...

Most service shops will use your oil if you bring it.

I have an 09 2.5i. I'm at 107k miles. I use full synthetic, high mileage 10w30 oil. I use oem subaru filters(from rally sport direct) and I change my oil as close to 7000 miles as possible. I check my oil every Friday, when i fill up, just to check levels and the condition of the oil. Hope this helps

Default Buying a Baja

Hey guys, I'm looking for a mechanic or someone knowledgeable to check a Baja I'm trying to buy, it is in Salt Lake City. I live in FL and not able to come to Utah just to look at it. If someone can do this for me or know someone who can, please get in touch with me. I can pay if necessary. Cheers!

At all costs, stay away from Hi-Tech auto repair in Murray. I had a small claims court case against them for the ****ty work they did on my vehicle. Long story short, they rebuilt it and I dumped 4g's into it, and the motor blew within 3,000 miles.

Helping out a coworker who maybe titling and registering a vehicle in Utah for the first time.

What are the things the Utah vehicle safety inspection looks for and how strict is it?
Also, how hard or strict is the smog test?

Thanks.

Don't really know just moved here myself. I heard if you can register in Tooele county you don't have to do an emissions test. On another not does anyone know any shops in the valley that might let window tint slide, you know, like leave a 30 rack in the front seat and it'll pass inspection

Guys I need some help. My ej205 blew 2 weeks ago on the dyno at Sonoma raceway. Motor had 142k running e85. Pulled the oil pan today to notice that cylinder 3 blew the rod completely which is the cylinder right next to the turbo. What I need to know is how can I avoid this problem with the new used motor that I purchased. All heat shied are installed and down pipe is wrapped. I was running shell rotella t6 5w-40 motor oil. Car was making about 285whp 280wtq. What can I do to avoid cylinder 3 getting too hot. Afr according to the tuner was 12:0:1 on e85. Injector duty cycles were about 90-95% peak torque. I was thinking of trying a different oil like torco sr1 5w-40 since my cousins engine builder swears on that oil. Will that help reduce cylinder temps? Need some advice guys help me out please. Don't want to blow another motor.

Current mods when it blew
Stock ej205 142k miles
Blouch 16g turbo ceramic coated
Dw 750cc injectors
Walbro 255
Invidia catless downpipe
Grimmspeed ceramic coated uppipe
3 inch catback spt
One step colder Ngk spark plugs
Mishimoto Tmic
And of course e85 tune. Thanks guys would appreciate some answers to my question in regards to reducing cylinder 3 temp which is right next to the turbo.

Hey guys just trying to get some better knowledge. I just moved here from North Carolina about a month ago. I wanted to see if there was anyone out there with a similar setup as me so I can get their input. When I was in North Carolina I was on the normal wastegate COBB 93 oct stage 2+ SF tune hitting about 16psi peak boost. When I first moved out here to the SLC area I was barley hitting 12psi boost on the normal wastegate COBB 91 oct stage 2+ SF. I downloaded the High wastegate COBB 91 oct stage 2+ SF tune and im back up to about 15psi peak boost. My question is; is this normal? Should I be concerned? does the elevation really have that much of an effect out here? any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Mod list:

My engine builder (Ralph) told me to run 10w40 all year round conventional as well. Another thing that came to mind is a good oil cooler. If you don't have one get one for sure! And don't get a cheap knock off haha. I did some research a few years ago when I was looking into building a hybrid setup and I thought I remember reading something about not using the one step colder plugs. You may want to look into that, again it's been a long time so I could be remembering incorrectly. GL
