Subaru Banner New custom intake manifolds?

I was just seeing how much interest the suby community would have in new aftermarket intake manifolds running between 500-700 dollars. If there is enough interest I'll have my fabrication department start on the new manifolds. Pics, specs, and dyno numbers will be up soon. From the rough stages we've seen a 32.5 horsepower increase but than again my car has a "couple of modifications." I am not a vendor but I would love to become one as soon as we start making more suby parts. We normally stuck to big v-8 turbo drag cars but I have a suby and love it. So far all my modifications have come from in-house tuning. I am not trying to sell anything just gauge some interest. If you have any ideas or suggestions we would love to hear them. Moderators: I would never dream of breaking any site rules, so if this post is illegal in anyway please notify me before taking it down and I will make any changes needed.

If it's at that price, gonna give that kinda gains and it's NOT going to crack, then, i don't see why people wouldn't be all over it. Make sure it can be reversed (ie - doesn't hit something) and won't interfere with rotated turbo setups and you'll be all set. Plus i demand teaser pics.

It is a flipped configuration. I liked that look a lot better than the rearward facing throttle body style. And it is a lot easier to route to the intercooler piping. If you have a front mount already we will include the neccesary piping to fit our manifold. So far on my car the rotated turbo hasn't had any problem clearing it. As soon as we get a cleaned up version I will post pics A.S.A.P.

well, won't work for my car unless I ditch my AC...so count me out...besides, I'll probably make my own

if it gives good gains, won't crack, and is in that price range then I'm interested.

Post some pictures up!

Very interested to see the finished product....does it not clear AC? Daily driver for me, so AC= goodness.

I would look into making a stock configuration manifold too, if you can make it functional- if you could break into the market with a $500 stock location piece that gives good power gains, you would expand your market a LOT. I will never put a FMIC on my car, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't use an aftermarket manifold. Just something to think about.

It might be worth designing two different pieces- a "street" piece and a "race" one, with different price points.

there has been interest and it can be done without losing a/c
with a front mount there is plenty of room for different plenum design
i have done rotated with keeping a/c so with aftermarket design there woundn t be a issue

I would be interested as to the numbers it actually would put down on the dyno. If it increases capabilities - then I am all for it. Doesn't matter if I need to get rid of AC or not. Prefer it to be used normal and reversed.

not for me and my low hood there isn't...on a reversed manifold like he's talking at least.
I'm a GC remember

I can do it with a flatened and widened charge pipe but now I'm casting or using composites to fit around AC

I'm looking for one that will be reversed and does not need to retain AC (already removed). Also focussed on mid/top end power and for a 35R/40R sized turbo.

the fun part is designing for the different cams for runner lengths. most people sit around the 2.4-2.6 disp, so that makes plenum sizing about the same

I'd like a stock location, but also be able to accommodate a 40R for mid-top end power.

As soon as we get the reverse manifold done we will make a stock replacement style. But we are keeping the a/c and alternator positioning. we're trying to keep them as simple as possible with straight bolt on capabilities. As far as special orders and accomodations we will have to customize some of the features. But that's what we do. PM me if you would like our online address. i don't know the rules on that type of stuff. Like I said before not trying to break any forum vendor rules.

I'd be interested in something that goes all the way to the heads (includes injector boss, lets you use factory fuel rails, this requires two different PN# for the top feeds and side feeds) and shifts power to higher rpm slightly, maybe 500-1000rpm. .

Trying to keep TGVs is passe and unnecessary. The CELs can be reflashed out for free now and there is practically no downside. If you're going to make a new intake manifold, it might as well go straight to the head.

I don't see any reason not to place the throttle body at the same position. I also don't see why you wouldn't make it work both directions. Including a pipe or hose that is workable for running reversed and with AC would be a nice touch. It is usually pretty tight, so making something that gets the pipe over the alternator and then can be adapted as needed would be nice. There's plenty of room in front of the engine for each user to adjust their piping by buying a few couplers, cutting their existing pipe, etc.

I'm sure there are tons of people with 400-550hp large bolt-on or rotated turbos itching at the bit to get an aftermarket manifold that posts power gains.

Sounds like a great idea and I would love to do a tgv delete model as well but for now we really want to get our "flagship" model out there. Besides we're trying to keep the cost down due to a more broad market. But like I said before we would love to do more custom fitments. But I think after we get the manifols done then we'll make the tgv deletes. We try to keep the prices as reasonable as possible without sacrificing any quality. You don't have to worry about our manifolds cracking, all of our 7 second cars have seen no problems yet. Yes they are streetable, just a little loud.

looks like most of the trouble is getting all the runners to flow the same CFM.

But, I would also be interested in this.

Voted.

A little of subject , but isnt the magnus jdm/euro intake basically a tgv delete manifold going straight to the heads with injector bosses ext. I assumed this would bolt right on the us wrx/sti heads?

Are they going to come fitted for top feed fuel rails? For most us that really need an aftermarket intake manifold, are using top feed injectors. I'm using 1200cc injectors, and they only are available in top feed.
