Figured i would post up.. nothing too incredibly special...
2.5 block 18g 650cc injectors catted dp intake protune by Scott Siegel at TopSpeed (18psi) made 296hp and 329tq on the stock wrx intercooler stock intercooler couldn't take anything past 18 psi... planning on doing a top mount and few other goodies...

powerband looks really good for the amount of supporting mods you have. its just funny that you have a whole bottom end mod but a stock top mount.

well i decided to have my tranny redone since i had some syncro's going bad and was going to putting alot more through it, basically pushing the 5spd to the limits... so the intercooler had to wait...

Which which 18G did you go with and was there any head work done? I'm about to bite the bullet on a Blouch TD05H-18G 8cm for my hybrid with stock 205 heads. My car is just driven back and forth to autox and this looks like the ticket!

The thing is, I too ran the stock TMIC with a hybrid setup (VF39, 8.8:1 CR). It ran great, but then I switched to FMIC holy hell was it faster. It was a huge difference. Lag measure by rpm was about the same, throttle response was only a hair slower, but power was WAY up. I wouldn't be surpised if you pick up 20whp tuned.
Nice numbers. |

What is your transmission - 5spd with upgraded gears or 6spd swap?
Have to love all that torque! Nice setup btw. |

Very nice numbers. I'm going to be running pretty much the same set up accept I have an AMR top mount and a couple of other small things. Can't wait to do my swap, only 2 more weeks! Same as you though, stock trans =( .

your trans will hold up as long as you are not harsh with it... i never launched my car or left hard and try not to catch second very hard either... mine has held up with no problem... also if you put a clutch in that will slip it will help save your tranny... because the clutch will slip before it can really put too much stress on anything

oh i just realized you have an 02 with the even weaker tranny... i might suggest tuning the car to see what you can get out of it and then detune it some so you do not run so much torque on that tranny... i know the 02 is suppose to be weaker

Lightweight flywheel helps also to reduce shock loading

Looks good man. That stock TMIC is definitely holding your back. The graph looks somewhat similar to mine. My setup is very similar to yours except I am running 16PSI, stock BCS, Perrin TMIC and 264/264 cams (moves the power band to the right a bit, but holds on much nicer in the higher rpms). I am keeping the boost low for the tranny's sake too. Can't wait until get a new job and can afford to grenade my 5-speed (on unemployment right now), then I will get a Grimmspeed BCS and go in for a retune at like 20PSI or so.
My dyno chart for comparision if anyone is interested: http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/p...AN2927_000.jpg Last edited by csmithwrx'05; 06-18-2009 at 05:37 PM. |
