Default need to know if 225/45/17 fit a stock 98 legacy 2.5gt wagon...thanks

I have a set of 17x7 rims and want to know if 225/45/17 will rub my car. The offset of the wheels are +48mm, the car is at stock height, with only kyb gr2s....I really need to know if it'll fit or not...

these are the two fitments that I need to know if i'll rub my car or not...

225/45/17
205/50/17...

let me know asap!!..thanks in advance!!

check on tire rack and see if something larger than that will fit. if something larger will fit chances are that those will not rub.

The 225/45-17s on a +48mm rim will most likely rub on the fender lip. The offset is the problem more than the tire width. To get a 225-17 to work on the BD/BGs you have to have a near ideal offset (+53-55mm.)

205/50-17 is the wrong diameter for your car. The best size for your car and that rim width is 215/45-17 IMO and on a +48mm has a slight chance of rub depending on if the car is lowered.

Now if you roll the fender lips you should be good to go.

i compared the 205/50/17 to the 205/55/16 ...its only .6% diference and its 1.4 mile faster...is that really bad for my car if i DID install the 205/50/17?

oops, you wrote 205/50-17 and I saw 215/50-17. No you are correct that difference is negligible. Still like the 215/45 tho(width is very good for a 7"-7.5" wide wheel.)

Yes it will work on a 7" wide rim, whether its gonna rub depends on the rim offset and the car.
