I second that, Jorge was a wonderful person to meet, and even better tuner then I could had expected.

He will not push the envelope and sacrifice driveability for a few extra ponies.

I have a:

08 Forester XT Sport M/T

VF43
STi TMIC
Perrin Eboost solenoid
Cobb AP
Cobb TBE (catted)
K&N Typhoon short intake
Walb F/P

we made 284 whp, and 330 tq !

She was a completely different car, or should I say "Box" after Jorge tuned her. He was by far one of the best tuners I have had tune any of my cars. I have been through the gambit of tuners, and Jorge is in the top 3.

He sincerely cares about meeting the goals of the client, and pushing the vehicle to the point where its fun and safe to drive. His power band are smooth, you could use the lines as a level, they peak and hold wit out dipping.

Do yourself a favor and tell him your goals and mods, and what ever he suggests do to your ride before,DO IT!

Look foward to seeing your dyno sheet!

Here's mine

I have a question. I'm on my blackberry and can't see your peak numbers. What are they.

Yes the p and l crew have been most helpful. We will be getting a 93 tune and a 100 tune. Its a shame injectors aren't in the budget.

I'm so excited. This time tomorrow we should be finishing up the 93 tune and moving on to the 100.

Subscribed, same vehicle and will be tuned by P&L in November. I was undecided between 18G/8cm2 and VF48 but Davenow posts convinced me to go 18G, can't wait to see your numbers, I bet there will be very similar to my 18G/8cm2, not much better I hope as I did not heed Jorge's advice and went the 8cm2 route, will see. I already anticipate a reprimend "you see the VF48 puts better numbers..." lol

Good luck tomorrow, I am excited too, keep us posted !

Ouch. 264whp/244wtq + really ragged curve = not such a hot tune. From the area code on your dyno sheet it appears you are in the Pacific Northwest. There are quite a few good tuners up there. Perhaps you should go see one of them to fully realize the potential of your car

I just installed a brand new pnpnc vf48 on my car. I have been having trouble out of one of my injectors and haven't been able to tune as a result. Here are my power mods:

2003 WRX
2.5 STi shortblock
STi cams
Perrin 3" downpipe
HKS Carbon Ti
Grimmspeed EWG uppipe
pnpnc exhaust manifolds with bigger x pipe
DW 650
GM boost solenoid
STi TMIC

I took off a TD05h-16g. I'm hoping to get a few more ponies out of the VF48. I hope to get the injector issue worked out tomorrow and possibly get tuned early next week.

Those are pretty standard numbers for a vfXX on a 2.0L. I had a FULLY supported VF34 on my 04 wrx tuned by riftswrx (jorge) that put down 275/250.

Thanks for your input. However, I am routinely at least 10+whp and 20+wtq the numbers that I referenced on VFxx 2.0L cars that I tune and I'm working with 91 octane. What concerned me more was the shape of the graph. It is very ragged, with either some very visible timing pulls or very odd steps in the timing profile. Either way, that tune is definitely sub optimal.

Sorry for not updating this thread. We went to see jorge and had the p and l crew do their pre dyno inspection and found the bov gasket to be leaking. Replaced it and then the turbo inlet was leaking. So no tune for us. Ordered a perrin so we will be back up to see the p and l crew asap.

Yea they offer a pre dyno test for 40 bucks to check for boost leaks, etc. Not sure what they actually call the test but it was 40 to know for sure of 200 per hour on the dyno and if I had leaks they would be worked on while on dyno which would cost me more.

Sorry man, that sucks driving all the way to Chicago, gas, time, energy. I am learning from your experience and building a leak tester as we speak.
I plan to keep the stock turbo inlet so I am curious how it will perform. Surprised P&L does not carry inlets, I am sure this is not the first time this happens to out of towners.
