Default 2003 Legacy New & Suspension question

I was down to the nearest Subie dealer today getting some things fixed on my car. I was talking to a salesperson about wishing the legacy had more power. He had some tantalizing news to tell me. With a sheepish grin he says" Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it." With about 15 more minutes of pestering, poking, prodding, and finally threatening him, he let the cat out of the bag. He told me that they will be putting the 290 horse supercharged 2.5 out of the Japanese Outback into the 2003 GT's. I hope this is true, it will be time to trade the litle silver GT in. Anyway, in the present, I have a delimma (sp?). I need struts for my 97 GT. I don't want to spend a lot of cash, but I don't want Monroe Roadmasters either. What is a good middle of the road strut that won't break into my '03 downpayment fund?

Thumbs up KYB GR2

These are the only ones I know of that fit your description. I think this place has about the best prices on them, but there may be others with similar pricing: http://www.p-s-t.com/kyb.html .

Funny... I don't think subaru makes any 2.5L Supercharged motors, other than the ST-X concept. I doubt that will happen, but would be cool. Now if you want a 2.5L supercharged legacy get the kit from Force One superchargers.

I am almost sick of hearing all these little "tips" from different sources but I must say they are all pretty funny. I do enjoy reading them I guess but if I ever get some truth I will be happy!

That will be the day.

How sure was he of this?

I guess we really can't believe anything until subaru makes an official announcement.

However this is the second time I have heard the 290HP Blown EJ25 rumor. I might believe it if the rumors get more consistant.

Maybe our buddies from the SIPP (Subaru Internet Performance Panel) can help get us some more solid information.

I checked the SOJ website and as far as I can tell there is no supercharged 2.5 engine.

There's no Japanese market Outback model either. Only Legacy wagons.
