Cool

frayz.....Dude

YOUR CAR IS ****ING AWESOME!

Just found this build thread today and skipped around a bit in it. But i have to say very nice

Kinda reminds me of back in the Day on my first build, an Olds 442 Hardtop into a convertible, lots of custom fab. But not to the level of your project.

MOAR!!!!!!

99% of the metal fabrication done now on her rear flares and tubs. Next job will be snagging and rear bumper alignment before laying up the rear doors.

I don't even know a guy that knows a guy that can fabricate this well. Amazing work!

Cheeky mock up using an S9 rear door looks promising.
Daves now got the painstaking task of making the rear doors flares & returns from scratch, good job he's not bad at the metal lark.
Can't use the doors he already made as the S9 onwards used wagon rear doors with a higher latched strike pin. This allowed for larger wheel clearance when the rear wheels were bought even further forward on the S9 onwards. As it is the S7/8 brings them further 15mm to standard.

If someone just dropped off their car and wanted what you have built, it would cost 6-figures.

Well sh_t. If you've done all the rest of this work, I guess it's only fitting to hope the engine bay will resemble something close to this, right?

We'll be watching, as usual. . Congrats on marriage, way to "Beyoncé that".

Just caught the latest round of updates. I'm speechless!

Frayz build has truly taken a WRC inspired road car approach to legit Prodrive WRC car motorsport standards, and for that I commend you Frayz.

My WRC inspired road car has taken a different approach entirely. When I set out for the latest evolution of my dream, I wanted to do something more conceptual, not an actual WRC Replica, or in case of Frayz's latest iteration, not an ACTUAL WRC car, lol.

It seems my dream is at a crossroads through no fault of my own, so I'm struggling with what to do...

Time will tell, but at least we can all live vicariously through Frayz's amazing build...

Great to see the OG's still on NASIOC. Paulie, I've been waiting years for updates on your build! I think even if the car remains as it was before going to IAG, it will still be one of the best bugeyes ever.

Frayz, we need some updates! Loving the road you're going down with this build.

Thanks man. It means a lot to me, that in the wake of all the builds and fantastic cars since, my car still resonates with people. I hope to know the fate of my car soon, but until then, I'll live vicariously through awesome builds like Frayz

Hey guys.
Just checking in after a long time. The car is still in build and has been on the back burner for a while whilst I scratch a Porsche shaped itch.
My life has taken a different route for a while but it will all come about one way or other.
Thanks for taking an interest and sorry I've left it so long.

Soon as I have some progress I'll let you guys know.

Whenever I feel stuck in an automotive rut.... Whenever I feel like inspiration is lacking in my world, Scoob-wise, I come and reread this thread. F'n epic. Who would have thought that this is where Frayz would end up?

Bump!

Thanks everyone,

Yes as they say all good things must come to an end. Basically i bought this as a standard car when i was 21 and now im 35 and my life has moved on. Ive got a 5 week old little girl now and a Porsche Cayman R and i just dont have the time, funds or inclination to finish the build. Maybe i should have stopped before converting the shell to a WRC replica.

I built it as a 576bhp home built supercar chaser, which id did in anger for 4 years before i started the last evolution of it. I've had some amazing times and met some amazing people along the way.

If anyone is genuinely interested i'll be parting out the whole build or selling as a complete project for £15k GBP inc everything i own for it, shell, engine box, genuine WRC sachs dampers, Syvecs ECU etc etc

Thanks for the memories and support.

Serious enquiries by PM only.

Congrats on the little one! They certainly have a way with changing your priorities. I now drive a Nissan Leaf or a minivan instead of a 340hp Prodrive Forester

If only there was a way to get this over to the US. Such an epic platform for someone to finish.

If you start parting out smaller items, and don't mind posting to the US, you have several items I want.
