Default Any specialists can confirm the difference of parts for JDM V7 / V8 and USDM STI?

Hello to all specialists,

What's the different between the complete ECU harness of JDM V7/ V8 and USDM STI?

Are JDM V7/ V8 and USDM STI all use the same plug for the harness and clusters?

Are JDM V7/ V8 and USDM STI all using the same DCCD module?

Are JDM V7/ V8 and USDM STI all using the same aluminum control arm in the lower front? (so can they fit on GC8???)

Are JDM V7/ V8 and USDM STI all using the same IC spray system? (switch, spray bottle, hose, nozzles, etc...)

Are JDM V7/ V8 and USDM STI all using the same mounts? (eg, engine mounts, transmission mounts, pitch mount, crossmembers, etc...)

Maybe more question to come

Thanks

The USDM uses throttle by wire, rather than a traditional cable, like the V8/V7/US WRX.

The plugs are the same, the pins are not, AFAIK. There are different options on the cars and the harness/clusters correspond to those changes. For example, the JDM V7 has an intercooler sprayer fluid level light. I don't think the US cars got that. But they're all minor things that can be easily wired in and are not reqired to get the car running correctly.

Like I said in another thread, you can use a USDM WRX harness for a V7/V8 swap. If you get a USDM STi motor you need a USDM STi harness.

All DCCD controlers are the same.

The V7/V8/USDM STi/USDM WRX all have the same chassis. All the control arms are interchangable between them. You need to shim them to fit your GC8. If a car came with an EJ motor another EJ motor will bolt in. (All Imprezas have EJ motors)

I couldn't tell you about the intercooler spray system. All I know is that you're better off making your own. There are several threads that show you how. Just search.

Many of your questions have been asked and answered before. Read the swap FAQ and then run a search. You'll find your answers much faster.

The ECU/engine harnesses between the 2.5L (USDM STI/Forester) models and 2L (JDM STI/USDM WRX) models are completely different, they are not interchangable. The cluster is mostly the same and will plug in but there are some differences.

As far as mounts and everything go everything is the same.

Wiring/pinouts are different

-Are JDM V7/ V8 and USDM STI all use the same plug for the harness and clusters?

Same plug, different pinouts

-Are JDM V7/ V8 and USDM STI all using the same DCCD module?

No, they all vary. Current ones have the yaw sensor.

-Are JDM V7/ V8 and USDM STI all using the same aluminum control arm in the lower front? (so can they fit on GC8???)

No, USDM Sti uses the same arm as the JDM Spec C (More caster) . They will fit on a GC but you get excessive negative camber because the GD cars have wider track.

-Are JDM V7/ V8 and USDM STI all using the same IC spray system? (switch, spray bottle, hose, nozzles, etc...)

Yes/no . JDM has different size bottles ie.Spec C (12L). Plus they have the auto mode. Apparently JDM V8 has an additional intake temp sensor which is used with the automode. USDM only has the manual switch.

No, physically looks the same. But the Grp N stuff has "harder" rubber compared to the stock Sti ones.
