Recently did boot replacements on an '05 STI CV axle. I bought OEM kits and the straps for the inner boot were some pre-trimmed over-center style strap. Needless to say I broke one. So I went ahead and bought OEM straps (via parts.subaru.com).
I just picked them up and one thing I noticed is that the OEM straps don't have the tabs/ears that you fold down on top of the excess once you bend it. I'm losing my mind trying to figure out how this is going to go. I have the tool that engages the strap, you roll it up to tighten and then fold it over. After that do I just glue it down? It's really driving me nuts and I appreciate any help anyone can provide. Sorry if I put this in the wrong forum.
