2015 WRX - STI Front Lip Installation Guide

Does anyone know where I can pick up the internally threaded Rubber plugs? I need a whole new set for an OEM STI lip that is going on a 2015.

SUbaru didnt seem to sell these individually and I cant find them at an auto parts store either.

Those clips are used all over the car. They break or get stepped on or get lost. I bought one of these(link below). The clip you're looking for specifically in that kit is the second to last one. But the last one is a longer version that comes in handy too

Why would they be breaking, unless you are running over things?

You don't need the rubber well-nuts. Just get stainless-steel bolts, oversized washers, and nyloc-nuts and you'll be fine.

They're all over the car, and quite a few in the engine bay. so those ones especially will get brittle over time or get stuck when you remove them so they'll break.

So they're not just randomly breaking on the car, its when you're working on the car and trying to remove them or if you store them improperly and you step on one. it's really handy to have some just sitting around.

So for those who still want the rubber well nuts, I got mine on amazon 25pk m5x.8

They worked fine. I did notice there was a little gap on my driver side you can’t really tell there’s a gap when looking at it. I think the side where you screw into the well nut might be a little thicker hence causing a little space.

Sorry to dig this thread up from the grave, but I feel like this is probably the best place to find the information that I'm looking for.

I was unfortunate enough to hit a piece of tire carcass on the highway awhile ago, which resulted in breaking a clip on the driver side of my front lip as well as the sideskirt.

The clip is the #6 clip on the diagram, which secures the lip to the fender. It is a smaller clip than the rest of the clips around the fender liner and pretty much everywhere that I've looked on the car. The clip that secures the sideskirts onto the rear wheel arch is very similar to that clip used for the front lip.

If anyone could help me find replacement for that clip, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's a pretty standard clip.
I would take the other side off and go to a hardware store and see if you can find something similar.

This is my guess.

This is the clip that's right above the front lip area in your image. Inside of the wheel well. It holds the bumper on.

To remove it, you push the center in first, correct?

Make sure you push the lip up all the way when you tighten the well nuts because I notice when you put the screws in, the weight of the lip would pull the well nuts out of the bumper creating a gap.

That is correct. There is a tiny nub to push in to lock it into place. I have not taken the bumper or the front lip off on this car, nor have I taken the front fender liner off for any reason since owning it, so I wouldn't know if the clips holding the bumper on is the exact one I needed. I'll check it out later.

Thank YOUUUUUUUU! I just did the lip on MY2017STi, but I took the bumper off because I also did the JDM grill and it was so easy!!!
