Granted this is the prototype but the shape is likely to be identical.

I don't think it looks like the Accord. I like this and hate the Accord.

And the 10th gen Civic, I don't think it looks better, it always looked too long to me. Certain models look good imo, Sport hatch, Si coupe. Si sedan looks ok but could look better without the chrome and tacked on spoiler.

I think the new Civic sedan looks better on the side profile than the current sedan but the new hatch/liftback has more Accord/Crosstour profile.

Side view looks like a weakened WRX with a BMW front end.

Rear 3/4 looks good. It's the horizontal hood and sloping forehead look after the hoodline that ruin what's otherwise a considerable improvement over the current car.

Lol! Just add camo to the wheels, they'll never tell the difference!

It's usually like this:

-Honda Accord nice design=Honda Civic ugly design
-Honda Accord ugly design=Honda Civic nice design

It seems Honda has done a switch-a-roo by going to:

-Honda Accord ugly design=Honda Civic ugly design

It's definitely more mature looking than the 10th gen. Unfortunately, it manages to be both boring and ugly.

IMO the car looks better from the side and rear views. Honda simply has to get that sloping forehead grill thing worked out. I think the Type R will look better.

Yeuck.

The truth is it doesn't really matter what any of us here think of it, it'll sell like hotcakes to the general masses simply on the legs of the "Civic" name alone.

Zero excitement in this design, I bet the hatch is gonna look like a turd as well.

New pics of White and Silver in production trim, likely EX with nicely designed alloys.

The rear lights are still Jetta'ish.

Looks just like another economy segment rental car.

Well it is a Civic after all. I like the clean lines and to me it's a real shame they messed up on the weird forehead bulge on the front. Also the C pillar looks goofy but the rest is pretty tasteful. There was so much wrong with outgoing model's styling (bulges, droops, angles, massive tail lights, big black fake grilles) that this is probably going to be much better received even with the butterface.

Speaking of the economy car sement I'm the furthest thing from a Nissan fan but I was taken back when I saw the latest Sentra in person. It's a really good looking car in this segment. So weird that cars like the Corolla and Sentra are the best looking cars in the segment as they have been traditionally the forgettable also-rans.

heavyD - I've not looked at the new Sentra up close, but I too agree that the current Corolla looks good for its segment, both the sedan and hatch.

I'm definitely not in the market for these kinds of cars any more (including Civic-R), however.

Either I'm getting used to it, or that is a more subdued Type R; still don't want FWD, but it looks better than the prior gen, can't say I like the styling, but I no longer flat out hate it, so progress.

I think this render is a bit off from the patent drawings. However, agreed, in this render the car looks a little less boring. Honda needs to tone down that rear spoiler, give it SH-AWD and 365HP.

I think the spoiler is confirmed since it's on the camo Type R, but I'd love to see a more stealthy version like the Sport that Europe gets (although the spoiler is ugly on that one). Or like you said an Acura version, but I know that'll be auto only. Still if it's a DCT and AWD it'll sell like hot cakes.

Definitely toned down. Despite that, I think it's uglier than the current one. Hopefully it ends up looking better.

The Sport trim is only $50 more expensive than last year's model.

Last month, Honda lifted the wraps off the all-new eleventh-generation 2022 Civic Sedan, featuring more refined styling, more efficient engines, and a redesigned cabin with upgraded tech. At the time, Honda didn't reveal any pricing details, but thanks to a leaked presentation slide, we now know how much it will cost when it goes on sale this year.

According to the slide, the entry-level LX model will start at $21,700, while the Sport variant will set you back $23,100. Moving up the range, the EX has a price tag of $24,700 and the range-topping Touring will set you back $28,300 excluding destination charges.

For comparison, the current 2021 Civic Sedan LX has a price tag of $21,250, making the all-new 2022 model only $450 more expensive. The Sport trim is only $50 more expensive than last year's model, while the EX is $300 more expensive and the Touring hasn't increased in price.

Another leaked slide confirms that the 2022 Honda Civic Sedan will go on sale on June 16. Keep in mind that Honda hasn't officially confirmed this, but the presentation slides look legit. Powering the LX and Sport trims is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque, paired with a CVT.

The EX and Touring trims come get a more powerful 1.5-liter turbocharged four-pot producing 180 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, up from 174 hp and 162 lb-ft in last year's model. As standard, the Civic LX is equipped with a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Honda Sensing suite also comes as standard, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and traffic jam assist. Upgrading to the range-topping Touring trim adds more luxuries such as leather seats, 18-inch wheels, a larger nine-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, LED fog lights, a premium audio system, and wireless charging.

TheStraightPipes got to check out the car in person. They weren't allowed to drive it, but this is probably as good of an up-close look that anyone outside of Honda has gotten to the car so far. Keep in mind this is a Canadian model and also likely pre-production.

Torquey and wheezing on the top end, just like most modern turbo DI engines. Itís smooth and powerful though, and takes to mods well.

Don't get the ugly comments. Looks like a massive improvement over the passable tenth gen to me. I dig the new front end, the styling of the headlights evoke 1990s Honda to me which is a great thing.
