Default How To: Improve Stock Subaru WRX/STI Stereo Radio Clarion CZ624u1

Hi everyone, if you're like me, you probably realize your stock radio kinda sucks (2011 Subaru WRX). Finally I got tired of it and did some research, found some great info on how to make it better. So I made a quick video for you guys.

From my knowledge all Stock radios - Clarion CZ624u1

Hey that's pretty cool! I'll have to see if the OBS is like that too, though I doubt it is!

Tried it, it works in the older stereos too (2009 OBS)!

This will work on the 09 base stereo, but the radio needs to be turned off to do it, in the video the radio was on. I did notice an improvement using the through mode (loud was already turned on for me). It mostly added more bass, nothing to write home about but a step in the right direction. Thanks for the tip!

I know this is old - but THANKS! I think that was just enough for me to keep it stock.

Selected: Hatch, Loud ON (and CS Auto ON through Menu) and it is loud enough for me. I don't think I'll ever need to set it to 40 anymore. 32 is probably the highest I'll go (using CDs anyway).

I removed it and cleaned off the rubberized coating that was on the face plate. It was getting sticky and made my fingers black if I rubbed it. Now it is glossy (and clean) looking. Used Alcohol and paper towels - which didn't hurt the LCD screen.
