Default Spec Clutch for RS

I have about 280 ft lbs of torque and was told that the Stage II will hold up. I am just done breaking in the clutch and will go to the track tommorow. We will see if it can take some abuse... and 280 ft lbs...

The clutch itself is like stock amazingly easy to drive. I have some doubts that it will hold up to the torque in the car since its so light and smooth engaging. it feels so much like stock... the install was easy and just like the stock RS unit.

Tommorow for the hard test... but if it holds up to the power and a track day... this clutch is the way to go...

we shall see...

IIRC, it was slipping like almost just after he installed it.

If you guys are really interested, I talked to Jim at ACT a while back and he was saying that he may start working on an Extreme pressure plate for the RS. Supposedly capable of holding 400-450 ft.lbs. since I called in asking about one for a car I was working on. I'm quite sure, though, that the standard ACT street clutch that is in the car is specced to hold 300 ft.lbs. and I'm quite sure it's holding 350-400 ft.lbs. right now (2.5L, 9:1, 14psi boost).

You are violating 83 rules here.

1. This post is 900 years old, OP is likely dead.
2. We have a car parts review forum and you haven't searched there.
3. Clutches are rated by torque NOT horsepower, so asking this question is ignorant.
4. You have not searched for and read the post titled Clutch & Flywheel FAQ to learn clutch metrics, so the odds of you buying the wrong thing and making a $500+ mistake are super, super high, so unless you poop $50 bills...you best find that post and read it.

Spec clutches, after owning one. Has questionable quality. They are extra lightweight and have questionable quality. I would suggest a quality manufactured clutch over cheap garbage but the stronger the clutch the more shock load it will transfer. That can be bad on a 5 speed.
