dude, what cha smokin? What are you offering? Where's the value for the takeroverer? You'll be lucky to get a lease take over WITHOUT offering a cash insentive never mind asking for 2K? And if you are serious then take off the freaking parts first and make it seem like it was NEVER modded at all.

I agree with andys.

Part the car to anything you can sell over $100 and sell it as a stock car.

It'll be hard to get money from the lease takeover..

You can borrow 20,305 from a bank at 8% (borrowing rate), pay 580 a month and owe nothing after 40 months. The net present value of 17300 in forty months at 4% (savings rate), is 13,262.

So essentialy the net present cost of this deal is $37605. Meaning it'd be cheaper to buy the same car for 37K straight up today. Go leasing!

Do you pay tax on the lease buy out?

Would you ship the Chargespeed sideskirts and rear lip to Fairfax, VA? I'm interested in those two parts. Thanks.

no opinions or slander here. just shedding some $$ facts on leasing. consider it a service to those who may not get it

leasing has benefits too. like it's easier to qualify for financing if you can't really afford it and there are probably significant imcome tax advantages if you are positioned correctly. Not to mention that you have a fixed buyer at the end of the 40 months if you want to quickly bail with no strings.

I just think the numbers are intersting. I bet others do too. Chill

Have another look at what andys said. Frankly, there would be no point for someone to buy the car unless they could use the tax writeoff for their business, and as he said, for it to be an equitable deal on both ends, you would pretty much have to pay someone $3-4k to take the car (assuming it's worth about $30k). You can do the number crunching yourself - take the average sale price of a used '05 WRX, deduct $20,305 (what you could get from the bank for $580/mo over 40 months), then deduct another $13,262 (what you would have to deposit into a bank account today to have $17,300 at the end of the 40 months to pay off the buyout). The difference is the amount you can ask for the car (if positive) or would have to pay someone to take over the lease (if negative). I'm not trying to be jackass, just showing you what the numbers look like to a potential buyer. IMHO, it's not worth it for you to sell. Once the lease is up, decide then what you would like to do with it.

Again, I don't want to be mean, I'm just trying to help you see the financial reality of the situation.

well the ad is getting better
when he posted 2 months ago
he wanted someone to pay him $5000 and then take over his lease
at $580 a month 41 months
which btw is slightly more than you would pay getting a brand spanking new
2006 wrx at a dealership with $5000 down on a 48 month lease.

that is the problem with a lease, if you want out, its very hard not to lose money
in the first few months

I put nothing down on the lease of my TL. I get 15000 miles a year. My payment is $524 per month and at the end of the agreement my buyout is 22,000. The TL is a $34,000 car. This guy either got raped on his lease or he is quoting everything in Canadian dollars.

Dude I'm in for the headlights so lonng as it's a straight plug and play swapout. $50 and my stockers is fine. My MY05 RS has 4500 km on it so the stock headlights are like new. How long you figure to swap them out? Can we do it in one evening?
