My car so far is 6th and it was on my meth tune. Car is up for sale and I only was able to enjoy her on the strip one time she now has a c16 tune which I haven't even been able to test out myself. My tuner ran all 5gal through the tank and I was left putting 91 back in. Good luck to everyone! Maybe one day soon I'll get another Subie. You all are some real AWSOME people and I absolutely enjoyed the waves on the highway from fellow owners.

4th gear wouldn't engage, power turned down for the new driver this year. We had a 9.3X@12X and 5.80@128mph 1/8th, but I cant find slip. This will do for now. |

I'm unsure of the weight for right now. We went from a 5'7 driver to a 6'3 one.. probably around 50lbs heavier then last year, think it was 25/2600lbs |

Not how I wanted to get on the list but its better than nothing.
I ran the car today at the local NHRA member trackl just to get my Competition License from NHRA. I made the 6 runs required and the last 2 runs are full all out passes. It was hella hot, the elevation was at 2,600 ft today. The track is at 440 feet actual elevation. We are still running lower boost on the car due to the Import event that I run up here is a 10.00 Index class and we dont really need to push the car to the 30psi range for my class as it is not needed. The 2 passes were 9.84 at 142mp and 9.77 at 140mph so Jason Velenosi (jasv11)/10 june 2012/Innovative Tuning/95 brighton/2.5 litre PT6262/07 6mt/e85/2,650lbs/6.32 1/8, 9.777 1/4, 109.44mph 1/8, 140.61 1/4 oh and I got my NHRA license, another thing to scratch off my to-do list for the year LOL Last edited by jasv11; 06-10-2012 at 11:08 PM. |

WHY! You have a sequential shifting dog box
All of the fast pro import 6/7sec cars here run sequential shifting lencos/jerichos/liberty, aka clutched engaged, air shifted dog boxes. You don't get faster shifting then that. |

I have been toying with the idea of an air shifter run off the Hydra to shift, but that would take almost all the fun out of it.

I setup a shift solenoid in one of the fast 2j cars with a t400, it made the car a little more consistent. It did also make the car way more easy to pay attention to keeping it straight..

Lenco, Jerico, Liberty are completely different, they shift without a power cut (as does the 4eat) so you don't disturb traction on each shift, they are also permanent RWD so that when you lift the front wheels you don't lose traction through the centre diff.
So, big difference, big advantage!! |

They are different in that they are RWD and you don't loose traction through the center diff "if" you are pulling wheels... I can agree with that Unless you switch your car to RWD, you have the ultimate gear box setup for racing an AWD car. The "powercut" is virtually non-existent, and makes zero difference other then allowing the gear to disengage. I could see it being different if you had to clutch in to shift, but its literally a .00000000000001s of a second ignition cut. You have the AWD equivalent of the gearboxes I mentioned. It is freaking bad ass. Why switch to a slushy 4eat? |

I can see you have never actually set up one of these boxes! You have to cut power quite a bit longer than that. As the gear is held in by the backcut on the dogs you need to wait on a torque reversal to release them, this is delayed by the wind up in the driveshaft, axles and tyres as they unwind. The resulting effect of the unwind/wind up is an unsettling of the suspension and most likely traction (not an issue on 4eat or any of the boxes listed above)
In reality my sequential only scores in the 2-3 shift as you don't need to go across the gate so effectively you have the same shift 1-2 and 3-4 in a H pattern dog box. That aside, you don't need to actually lift the front wheels to lose traction, you just need sufficient rear weight transfer to make them light enough that they cant hold the torque going through them, this is either 50% 45% or 33% depending on centre diff type. On my car I need to wait until I'm settled in 4th before I can use full boost due to front wheel slip. (not an issue on 4eat) Thats with an uprated DCCD on full lock, sadly they are designed around 280bhp and poor traction conditions, not locking up an a dragstrip with 4x that power! The downside to the 4eat is however reliability and I really wouldn't want to use one on the street or road course/circuit race stuff that I also do with the car. |

Actually.... I have personally setup and dealt with plenty. The amount of time it took you to type all that would have been 3 shifts. Yes, if you want to get technical what you wrote is 10000% accurate. What I am getting at is you are portraying it as if you have wait for the shifts. You don't, they are instant. It is not like you have a low 7s/high 6s RWD were the power cut is both dangerous and causes .0Xs losses, you have a mid/low 8s car, you are not going to pick up .5 by switching to an AUTO. So you don't use full boost til 4th gear? Would you care to show a log of that fast pass? Showing both the shift drop and boost? I posted up logs for both our 8sec cars. While they are not 170mph or 1000hp the manual car does trap 160 and I can lay in full boost at the 330... I can say though that our EVO was able to have a full 60psi in 2nd as well, but that only trapped 168mph. Thank you for the suspension tech, again I am pretty well versed in suspension/traction set ups RWD/AWD/FWD.. My whole thing is your making it sound like you are loosing tons of time.. You are not BTW Both the p&l cars are cutting 1.30s in AWD, our 2 EVO's are in the mid/low 1.3s... I understand how it all works bud, our slow car out of 3, all glass/full body i6 3.0ltr car went 8.2@161mph with a soft mid 1.2 60ft this weekend.. I'm not a newb, so please try not to be so condescending. BTW why not have your ECU shift the gears for you, just like an real AUTO .. Works well for the guys at STM |
