For a high mileage Leg that has assorted weeping oil seals and a slightly tired motor, consuming a quart between changes is believable. Mine does. Now, if a whole quart of oil actually leaks out, that's a big problem. |

there's a reason this guy has a 95% rating...
I wonder about this comment: "In-dash 6 cd changer, thickest gauge amp wiring kit available, with 2 big fuses in-line." Is he saying that he has double zero gauge wire in his car? For a bunch of clarion and blaupunkt crap?!? |

I read that the same way as KD7000, that he really means that it uses a quart every oil change. Hell, I use a quart about every 1000mi or so! I extended my oil change interval because I figured I'm putting so much fresh oil into it, why bother changing it every 3000!
I will say the custom deck in the back is pretty sweet. I like the way he seamlessly integrated it into the existing interior, so that you can hardly tell there's a new floor back there. And I bet it looks even better with the spare tire sitting on top! Pat |

+12345 My BD had 121k on it when I traded it, and it did not leak, burn, consume, or any other word to describe loss of oil. You could check it at 3k miles from the last change and it would still be on FULL.

As for the ebay ad, I didn't read the whole thing, so I missed that the engine only has 50k on it. Still, I don't think a quart every oil change is that outlandish, even at 50k miles. Pat |

You guys are missing the point. The reason the guy is a tool is because of the $1000 NON REFUNDABLE deposit...on a car that can't be worth more than 5,000.

No, you're missing the point, Mark.
Manny clearly pointed the supposed oil leak issue in his very first post, and seems to be the focus of his tool accusations. If, in fact it's just a consumption problem and not an actual leak, then people are overreacting. Isn't a $500 or $1k deposit standard fare for an ebay auction? -It's actually a remarkably thorough and detailed auction listing. Far better than most. So I can't understand why people are all bent out of shape about it. Last edited by KD7000; 12-07-2006 at 01:04 PM. |

I don't think it's 1000 dollars. Considering cars go for a whole lot less on eBay all the time.

I certainly wouldn't pay $5,000 for that car...

So, I wouldn't put $5,000 into this car. And I'd classify this guy as a tool, for thinking his "contributions" to the car should add value. edit: I missed this... Quote:
The KBB value that he quoted in his auction, is for a "good" condition car. This car is probably on the low side of fair, making the private party value closer to $5,000. Last edited by Speedwagon; 12-07-2006 at 03:39 PM. |

Wow im surprised there is soo much talk over this car.... We've all seen worse on ebay so this isnt anything new. Yeah the car is a little messed up but atleast he explains the truth about it all.... Most would say "here's a great car, no problems to be seen... buy it now!" Whatever, talk what you will.. I give him some credit for tellin all the details, even if they arent in his favor.
