Haha.

If Apple has their way with their BS patents, they'll be the only phone.

Stop joking, this is serious business. I've heard these accusations several times from various sources, and I've never seen any of the specifics cited. I would love to be spoonfed some of this information so that I can better understand the butthurt. I've tried a little to do the research, but all I find is more of the butthurt and none of the specifics.

I'm excited to actually see the specifics.

jimmy meant to say rectangles with rounded corners. design patents are more about how you defend them than whats in them. basically means spending more money than the other guy. patent trolling is the most stifling bullsht ever conceived, hope it ends real soon. design patents are close second.

By 'design patents' you guys are talking about Industrial Design patents right? Or do you mean actual software/hardware design?

The thing I like about the iPhone is its metal case and how smooth the OS is. But, the current gen Android phones are just as smooth. If I was in the market, I'd get the Sony Experia S.

So I can do this with it -

Also, thought this was interesting. Intel chip running Android.

I believe the patent issue literally is over the basic shape of the phone and the use of little square tile icons on a touch screen.

That ^ and the use of the bottom quick links as well as the actual color and image of the buttons.

Samsung did one up apple with delivering the payout of the lost suit in nickels. I believe it was to the tune of 5 million dollars in nickels

There's also the "bouncing" when you get to the end of a list after inertial-scrolling.

Oh so mad.... Haha I could give to shuts. Just a funny thing to me that Samsung made parts for apple and took apples design and implemented it into their own phones.

Or... Apple used parts from Samsung for their own phones and then sued Samsung for using something trivial like chamfered rectangles.

OH NOES! Now everyone that uses chamfers will have to pay Apple for their 'IP'...

"In mechanical engineering, a fillet ( /***712;f***618;l***616;t/) is a concave easing of an interior corner of a part design. A rounding of an exterior corner is called a "round" or a "chamfer"."
