What are you guys sticking to your cars for numbers, the blue painters tape I have right now refuses to stick, it just slides right off.

Yeah between wax and a meguiars quick detailer it is usually slick when being shown off. I'm just wondering if there is a Goldiloks brand of tape that will stick but not take the paint off.

Myself and Clay have magnets. When you get out to the event they have sheets of paper with numbers and classes printed for you to use. A cheap alternative is to go to Home Depot/Lowes and buy a few packs of the Frost King brand magnetic covers used to cover heating or A/C vents. They come like 14''x8'', so work well as far as required sizes. They come in white so they work well for dark cars. If it's a lighter color just paint them.

Wonder if some really thin felt should be used to protect the paint.

Naw, been using magnets for a while with no issues. Just wash the car first, apply a light coat of wax or quick detailer before you put numbers on. I bring some spray wax/detailer with me and wipe down the car after removal of magnets too.

That is also a Wrx- never met the guy but the car seems realy nice. I'm the guy on Huger- just got a new alignment, running -2.5 camber in the front. The car seems to have lots of grip. I'm looking forward to he auto-x!

yeah i know right. 02 tranny looks just like the 04s tranny. going to pull apart to see if the rs wagon is still there and snag the tranny and rear out for the 02. so I can at least get one of them back on the road.
Eventually ill send off or rebuild the trans for the 04. BTW looks like the weather is gonna be crap for the sunday auto-x. |

Hey I just saw a silver 04-05 wrx on two notch. Near Subaru dealer. That anyone on here? It had bronze wheels I believe. Oh I deliver to the Subaru dealership now. I'm hoping to get a discount now. Lol. I got a few cases of Subaru oil in my truck right now and who knows what's in the other boxes

As of right now weather for Sunday's auto-x event doesn't look too promising. 95% chance of rain/thunderstorms and cold, only a high around 45 degrees for the day.
There's about a 50/50 chance I will be attending the event. Let's hope the weather holds, right now it's predicted to rain .5" Sunday. The cold is one thing but steady rain is no fun to hang out in. Rain at that rate wouldn't be fun for anyone, runs would be a lot slower too. Last edited by TurboTeggyBoy; 03-22-2013 at 08:11 PM. |

As much as I want to I think I'm even going to bail. Was planning on taking the entire family. But the kids would be cold and miserable.

I'm sort of in the same boat. Weather is the huge factor for me, probably going to skip this one and try for April 13th at Zmax.
