Subaru Stars TOPSCOOB: Where are they now edition?

I recently saw TopScoob001 come out of hibernation (it's now for sale) and was super happy to see the first TS still out and about and looking amazing. We've had so many unique build reveals on NASIOC over the last decade plus, so this is a bit of a trip down memory lane.

Consider this a little bit of investigative journalism, let's see where these builds are now -- share the thread on social media with the original/current owners if you know they don't frequent NASIOC anymore!

TopScoob001: Paulie's build is currently for sale, check out his thread here

https://i.imgur.com/PSLdDvE.jpg

TopScoob002: The wheeldude model car, aka Suby_dude. I remember this car was broken into back in 2014 and the front end was stolen, it looks like Suby_dude got most of his parts back or new ones in some 2015 photos. Not sure on the status of the car right now.

TopScoob003: Boeleni's Amazing Canadian GC8 - it looks like he's still around and he converted the car to a Time Attack / Hill Climb car!

Original:

Now:

TopScoob004 - JaiMak's build -- looks like it sold, and JaiMak is still around, but with a newer build

TopScoob005 - Dasani's sleeper 05 CGM STi - sold in 2012

TopScoob006 - Troll's literal Bugeye STi - one of the first to do a full STi drivetrain swap in a Bugeye - I think he still has it

TopScoob007 - Mr. Cake's Legacy GT, not sure if he still has it

Old Photo

TopScoob008 - PATR1KI's 2.5RS - I think he sold it

TopScoob009 - Boost Junkie's build - looks like he moved onto a 2010 STI, still active

TopScoob010 - Angry Toaster's 2001 STi Forester - unknown if the car sold

TopScoob011 - Mixed Menace's STi swapped GC - he is still around but I think he may have a different build now. I'm dating myself now, but Menace's profile still has an ICQ contact icon. Damn I feel old.

TopScoob012 - Chris Robinson's "Schoolbus" - car totaled in accident

TopScoob013 - IStoSTI's Zerosport style Hawkeye - parted out

TopScoob014 - L-SCHLEGS's 2008 STi hatch - unsure of status

TopScoob015 - Old Duwel's 94 JDM STi - unsure of status

TopScoob016 - Dr. Murdock's STi outback - sold

TopScoob017 - the Saaburu - unsure on status

TopScoob018 - ProjectL's GF Wagon - still around!

TopScoob019 - Tino's rather insane build - looks like he's still around

TopScoob020 - Girodisc's maximum cruiser - looks like he has moved onto the MR2 world

TopScoob021 - Kaeo's who can really forget this build? I think the engine got waterlogged and he parted it out.

TopScoob022 - Preacher's Foz - Sold to a local a few weeks ago, what timing!

TopScoob023 - STi-JDM's amazing 2005 STi, unclear if he still has it but it moved onto a 2000 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec II build.

TopScoob024 - Distorto's "Stomper" - looks like he moved onto a 2010 Volvo c30 R-Design... nice choice!

TopScoob025 - Pam Cake's Grey Goose - I know this is still around because I follow the Grey Goose on Facebook

TopScoob026 - Carl s's Rally build - was for sale in 2014, not sure if it ever sold

TopScoob027 - glilly's - looks like they moved onto a BRZ

TopScoob028 - Hershey's "None more black" AutoX build, sold and moved onto a 2004 WRX build

TopScoob029 - 02WRX2.5's Nine (ever make 8?) second drag WRX, unsure on status

TopScoob030 - alcoolaid's 600 HP track STi - I think he still has it?

TopScoob031 - Yup I still have it.

Then

Now

TopScoob032 - KatieO's Rumble Wagon -- one of my favorite builds, and I heard through the grapevine it's for sale! Someone buy it before I find some money - ha!

Alright, there you have it... if you know where these people or builds are now, please share!

And of course we should probably give a big thanks to Ferg and company for making the TopScoob thing happen over there years. NASIOC is a bit more quiet than it used to be due to the onset of social media, but perhaps we can pull a few old hats back into the forums for at least this conversation

Lol, I nearly bought the engine out of #29. Not sure what his PB for the car ended up at but its a beautiful peice of work.

I know what his plans where (when I was given a chance at tge engine), but I think they stalled and changed directions significantly.

Exclamation

I'm going to share a few images of TopScoob001's interior because it's one of the best GD chassis interior's I've seen -- simple, not overly flashy, but very high quality.

Glad you did this, it brought back memories. I was wondering about a few of these cars. I need to look up Tino to see where his build happens to be now. Great times.

What about Coolblue05's car? Wasn't it a TopScoob? Car was parted out to the body, body sold to P&L not even a roller. Car bought and rebuilt by a member (????) in Jersey and looks great still. Anyone seen it?

I stand corrected: https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho...2026452&page=8

He competed in Top Scoob 19 and came in third against Tino.

https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho...t=top+scoob+19

I was obsessed with Coolblue05's car, I wanted mine to be like his - never happened, lol. I did get a chance to ride in the car at a Mid Ohio HPDE.

Coolblue05 currently has a Lambo! And a host of other highend cars.

Aye, a lot of good memories on here, unfortunately the forums just aren't nearly as active as they used to be. Thanks social media :P

While not a TopScoob, for memory's sake alone, here two other builds that I admired quite a bit: Jeff Hill aka STiyiyi's build, and Dmoney's Blurple Bugeye. STIyiyi eventually sold to a young kid out in the Midwest, and Dmoney parted EVERYTHING out, all the way down to the chassis.

STIyiyi

Where did you get this info that it got totaled? I know it sold a couple times after he sold it.

Ahhh N'CTRL, one of my favorite Bugeye builds . I thought I saw a post on NASIOC where he said it was totalled, but I must be confusing his build with another yellow Bugeye wagon!

Aye, I heard from Armin that she sold it a few weeks before I posted this -- it took her quite a while to sell apparently, which surprises me given how well it was built.

So, while I don't think Hendra was ever active on these forums, he did build one of the best Bugeyes of all time, so i figured as a way to keep this build alive, i would share some of his content Great J Racing custom wide-body kit and tons of ARC parts to boot. He started with gunmetal paint and eventually went red.
