people have been begging for a Recaro option in Subaru's for a long time now and when Subaru finally gets them they are the worst Recaros ever made lmao, why Subaru why?

I got the base model 2020 STI and no regerts.

Personally, I've never found any standard WRX seat to be lacking in grippiness or bolstering anyway. I suppose WRX owners who go to the track might want something more aggressive, but for your average twisty road, the stock seats seem fine to me.

When they did decide to offer the Recaros, it seemed to be more about the cachet of the Recaro name than genuine improvement over the stock seats. Like with the Brembo brakes, although I suspect those make a bigger difference.

I wanted this option for my 2019 STI but didn’t want to pay the extra 3k for it, but If anyone wants to sell their recaros I’ll take it off your hands!

I like mine. They match my girls car seats.

Whether or not they are worth it is very subjective. I dont think they are up to spec if you plan to autocross. They really dont hold you in very well. Im 5'9 180.

But daily driving I like the look, feel. Wish they had lumbar support.

Nothing wrong with the seats. I'd be interested if the same package was a $1500 versus a $3000 upgrade.

Well i finally got it on Saturday 6/27 and 6 hours later got tint and mudflaps installed! Had to put about 12 hours into minor paint correction ceramic coating, couldn't be happier! Now to figure out what catback i want to buy cause it needs to be a little bit louder.

No I didn't. I took some pins out under the wheel well and reached through, to the tabs holding in the bezels. It was easy and looks tons better.

Anyone having trans issues with their STI? My 19 STI with 3k miles is grinding second gear. I brought it into Subaru and they were able to replicate the issue. They have not begun digging into it, but did mention they have seen the same issue with several cars.

I had a 19 STI and never experienced any 2nd gear issues...

Just picked this up a couple weeks ago after it was delivered. I ordered it back in early September. It’s a 2020 technically so I hope I can play...

Nice! Just picked mine up today. Does yours have a random rough idle? Rpms just drop to about 600 then back up to 1k.

No rough idle here. If your fans are engaging on and off that might send the RPM’s up a few hundred occasionally at idle but that’s normal.

I think the dealer put bad gas in. Burned off half a tank today and topped off with 94 and it seems to have stopped the idle fluctuations.

I had this issue with my 2019 STI. During fall & winter mine would grind 2nd gear. Around 6,500 miles. I had a local shop perform a full transmission flush with Motul Gear 300 75-W90 & immediately the grinding went away. When shifting even during WOT it is much smoother.

Swapped out badges & tinted the tails. Really feels good to be in a STI again.
