I like the idea with your grill but I do see a concern. Do you think with all the accessories on your bar, and now the grill, are restricting air into the car? Our turbo engines run hot already so I guess it's a matter of trial and error. Thumbs up on you Baja

Swap your hose clamps from your TMIC to your t-bolt clamps on your intake silly.

It's been over a week and I've actually gotten a lot of complements on this bad boy. I also think my pit bull loves it too! I wanted to tow something so my buddy let me tow his subaru justy, other than that I probably won't ever tow again. My plain is to work on the suspension first. What are some of your guy's set ups? Anyone using coilovers? Guys at my local shop are trying to convince me to stick with lowering spring and shocks. What do you guys think? Cheers!

BC racing makes a great set of coilovers for the baja. ISC does as well but it will be totally slammed with the isc setup as the rear strut mount is way too short. Ask me how I know. I would go with the BC racing setup if I had to do it all over again, 14k front and rear for spring rates. 12k is too soft.

So would I stick to the 03-08 legacy coilover?

Ask for baja coilovers. Import image sold me both the bc racing coilovers (sti) and isc coilovers for my baja. Bajas are based off of 2001 legacys I believe but don't quote me on that. I have been finding more and more sti parts fit on the baja.

Just got an 05 turbo (a/t)

56000 miles. First subaru I've ever driven/owned and I am in love.

The exhaust is starting to leak though- any suggestions on a new one? I think I like the xxceleration cat-back.

Anyone ever straight pipe their baja? I'm thinking about having a local shop test fit one.

Straight down pipe or complete straight exhaust? A complete straight one would probably make too much noise, probably just enough to get law enforcement take a second look at your setup. Remember altering your exhaust is for "off-road use".

I tried a straight pipe with my NA and my car didn't take well to it. Not enough back pressure so was getting a lot of popping and I guess people could hear me coming a looong way off even though it was pretty quiet in my car. I had all my cats, just straight pipe from the cat back. I went with a high performance muffler instead. I still get a little popping but it's rare and not nearly as loud.

Been there done that on several cars. Best thing to do is get a 3" in/out magnaflow cat/flex section put in your downpipe. Mellows it out quite a bit. I run this exact setup on both my sti and baja.

Here is the interior of my baja, it's obviously still a work in progress. The gray plastic was scratched up all over, so i replaced it.
The interior so far:
Steering wheel-- LL Bean Legacy
Airbag -- WRX
Shift knob-- 07 WRX knob
Shifter boot-- redline goods
Wood grain parts-- Outback limited

Future plans for the interior
Leather swap out of a legacy (to include doorcards) and vinyl dye of the gray pieces to black.
Black carpet (dyed)
Black headliner
