Both 6-speeds with EMCD/viscous center have identical gearbox cases. The EMCD has extra wiring and plug on the rear case, but both should fit.

Some people have had issues with tunnel clearance.. That were subsequently solved with judicious use of a hammer.

Gosh dangit! Would some one come up with a definite answer? Does the 6-speed fit or not? I've seen people say it fits no problem, and I've seen people say you gotta bash the tranny tunnel. What's the truth? If it fits no problem, I may have to consider that instead of the MRT gearset...

It fits, but I'm 95% sure the only clearancing you have to do with a hammer is for the shifter linkage - so not a whole hell of a lot.

keep in mind too since it's bigger it will be alot harder to install and uninstall, as the regular one is quite a pain itself.

It will fit with some use of a hammer to bang the tranny tunnel out a little bit, but as far as I know if you want the DDCD capability, you also need the 2004 STI ECU, as well as the gauge cluster (?). Hope that helps
