We had one recently in the shop due to a problem with the drive motor. I asked the tech how many of those he had done since it was the first time I had seen a hybrid CVT out of the car(in our shop) and he said it was only the second one he had done for that issue. It had something like 70K-ish miles on it. Being warrantied.

Oh wait. You linked the '19 Hybrid. Not the earlier one from the OP.

17 miles of EV alone would have me using next to nothing in gas commuting to work each day. And I have talked to 2 people that have driven it and liked it better than the standard Crosstrek.

Of course, price still comes into this. HOWEVER, considering how much gas it would save me.......

Or 30MPG city(5MPG increase) for an AWD Hybrid? That actually has offroad capability?

My only issue was the price. They loaded them up to higher prices with out offering a base model. I understand why though.

You said “yeah the Crosstrek is pretty hated and Justy asked, “says who?”

So that’s the question. Quit trolling and answer it.

in general, podcasts I listen to, people in the automotive community, idk what sources have told me that in the very long life of the Crosstrek, but it has been said

I cannot exactly quote to you in the MotorTrend Issue #258 Jim Bob said X, on the Smoking Tire podcast on 3/25/17 they said Y

Next time make mention you are referring to magazine people. They pretty much hate all Subaru's that don't have a turbo. I thought you were talking in general and I was wanting examples. The customers who the Crosstrek is actually for, love their car. And as a disclaimer, of course, I am not talking about EVERY SINGLE Crosstrek owner. But, those that don't like it definitely aren't as much as your statement had alluded to.

Just makes me wonder why it wins virtually every comparison it's been in if they hate it so much.

The Plug In Hybrid works great for my commute. I recently got 800 miles out of one tank of gas. My commute is ~25 miles each way, I charge each night and at the office (for free) so in essence I’m now only commuting 20 miles per day on gas as opposed to 50 before.

We had the 2015 Hybrid, it was great for what it was, and now we have the 2019 Plug-in Hybrid. So far so good.

We also have a Tesla Model 3, and we can appreciate Subaru's attempt and we look forward to their future BEVs.

I also had 3 WRX and an STI, so we're not just about saving on gas...

"it was great for what it was" does not rank high on the positive scale?
