Sorry to carry on guys but another plus to doing this job is that when you are ready to upgrade the charge piping to silicone, or other, the clamps will be GTG. I installed an AVO intercooler the other week and the throttle body pipe was replaced as part of the install. It was swapped to an AVO all silicone type, The breeze liner clamps slid right on and have held perfectly as this was their intended purpose (silicone pipe clamps). Future proof.

What size clamps do I need if I were to use t bolt clamps? They have less adjustability than the breeze clamps so not sure what ones to order and can't find all the piping sizes

Tbolt clamps wont fit in the tight spaces. I did the trial and error for you. Besides, you dont need all that extra clamping force. But, if you want to try, the largest clamps extend to 89mm so thats 3.5inch.

Ya. Mine had I guess what would be revised end caps. It had them on both ends. You have to have it on there too or you can't use the pipe because there is no way for it to make full contact with the inlet/outlets. The sleeves fit in between specific groves on the piping to lock them on from twisting and turning. I was a little worried at first seeing them because the 2011-2014 had the issue with the rubber boots blowing out from high pressure (fix was just removing it). But these seem to be different, and required.

Going to tackle this 'fix' this weekend once my silicone airbox hose kit arrives.
Thanks for posting all this information! |

Did mine yesterday, even though the car is at 5k mileage things were pretty hard to move, and nearly every factory clamp was turned in the exact wrong direction to make removing or tightening possible.
I tried to skip the battery disconnect and got a check engine light anyway, so went thru the disconnect/ECU reset. It must know the airflow meter was disconnected and reconnected, even though the car was off. My intercooler cover lost one front 'peg', they were stuck hard in the rubber grommets. If you haven't ever removed it, do it now, and lube it with vaseline, cause I now will likely drill a hole and use a nylon bolt to hold that front corner in place (rather than buy another cover to replace the one plastic peg) I also lost a few trim clips, those are easier to replace. I had to remove most of the ones under the engine to get to the clamps on the intake and be able to rotate them/tighten or replace. Seems like no boost leaks, normal spike to 20 or so then mostly 14-16 in full boost. I had to pull the intercooler downpipe to do that bottom BPV clamp cause I could not get the breeze clamp to catch, though removing the radiator fan on that side does make reaching everything easier. The Danoz Fix - FA20DIT clamp replacement guide
after driving around for a week after the clamp change I thought I might have a boost leak...and was a bit worried about it.
Finally had a chance to test it, if you live anywhere near southern Vermont -- Route 9 west of Brattleboro has an great long incline (several miles of uphill bliss) with a truck lane -- I was able to repeatedly drive up (and down) that incline to test and sustain boost... I got a hard lock at 14 - 16 psi (once it hit a certain PSI I could hold it for several minutes if I tried) so no leak for me... Still want an accessport, but now will wait for black friday sales... Completed today. Everything went pretty smoothly, so now I wait to see if it makes a noticeable difference. I also used this post and it helped a ton with gaining access to the various clamps.

Finally got around to finishing this fix up. I did the intercooler in/out and TB inlet a few weeks ago when I out in the pitch stop.
A week after that I noticed the turbo spool noise was much louder and I could hear the higher pitched whistle/whir. I suspected boost leak as the car's power was noticeably lessened, and would hold around 10psi but wouldn't be stable. Anyways, today I lifted the car and took care of the turbo inlet and BPV clamp. Turbo inlet clamp was not loose. BPV clamp was snug, but could be tightened another quarter turn. After changing the clamp to a breeze clamp I noticed the BPV compressed alightly, which was not the case with the Triton clamp. Took the car for a test drive and turbo spool sound was much quieter and power has been restored. Since I had the tools out, I changed the 3 intake clamps as well |

I've noticed maybe three times within the last month and a half a strange stutter and ticking noise under hard acceleration at about 3-4k RPM. Would this have anything to do with that? Seems to happen when it's really hot out. (that I've noticed) but ya only has happened not even a handful of times.
Gonna check my clamps tonight. |

I'm new at this, but how tight should we make the clamps? Is using a small socket wrench ok?

Does it make a difference if you reset ECU with 93 or 91 in the car? I would think that once you start using 93 again it will adjust and eventually erase the values from 91.

During idle at a red light, every couple of seconds I feel a very minor thud while im listening to the car idle and it goes away for a couple seconds and does it again, kinda like a very minor misfire. Do you guys suggest tackling this job and seeing if it goes away?

Do they have to be Breeze clamps? Are Ideal clamps ok? Can't find Breeze clamps in Canada and I'm not paying $100+ for clamps. As far as I'm concerned Ideal is better quality than Breeze.
Yes, just don't over tighten too much. Use 1/4" ratchet. |

I bought all my Breeze clamps on eBay. You can get them individually for cheap...SC
