Correct. Just a Mac valve. I went with a Perrin unit though, as it was nice, small, and plugged right up. Agreed, fully recirculating or bust. I can't say it was one or the other, as I did them both at the same time, but the leaking of the stock unit in my hand was enough to convince me. Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC

Alright n00b checking in regarding aftermarket wheels:
1. 18" x 9.5" with an offset of +38 will fit a base WRX with zero modifications to the suspension, fenders etc, correct? 2. Just what are the acceptable ranges of wheel size/width on the 2015? |

1. Depends on the tire you run. But the wheel alone will fit.
2. So you need to be more specific. Do you care if it pokes, do you want to be hella flush, are you going to roll your fenders? But the wheel size you gave is about as large as you can go and basically be flush, if you want a big brake kit (up front) with that offset you need a spacer of 5 mm apparently. I'd like the tires to be slightly stretched; however, I'm really new to this so I'm still slightly unsure what size to go with. What size do you recommend? Also, want proper summer tires, what brands are best recommended for wet/dry conditions? Here are the rims I'm leaning towards: http://www.workwheelsusa.com/product...=27&wheel=1017 |

Anjuna, which shroud did you go with when you installed the D2S on your 2015?
Does the D2S fit better than the H1? Last edited by Jonnyfive; 02-04-2015 at 05:57 PM. |

Thanks, it seemed like their website made me choose a shroud. So the D2S fits with no trimming, or minimal? That's great news either way. Are there any threads documenting this? The H1 as I understand is just smaller so it probably isn't necessary. |

A 3 port will require a tune.

Hello all,
I have been reading the discussions on the forums about tuning being required for almost every mod on a 2015 WRX. I am coming from a 2013 Ford Focus ST with a Big Turbo build (pushing almost 500whp). Car was totaled last Friday due to being rear ended and forced into an intersection then being hit by 2 other cars. Anyways I pick up my WRX within a week or so (waiting on insurance to cut a check) and wanted to immediately put in an intake and exhaust (catback not turboback). I wanted to know if this would require a specified tune thus making it mandatory for me to buy the COBB AccessPort right off the bat. I am new to the FA series platform so I am doing my research before I pick up my WRX from the dealer. I want a clean build and avoid any potential damage internally to the platform. As a side note I also plan on immediately putting on new wheels/tires and springs for looks Wheels: Enkei T6S Black 18x8.5 5x114 with 15mm spacers Tires: Michelin Pilot Super Sports Springs: H&R .8" drop Thanks for reading my post and I look forward to hearing back your feedback!! Cheers all! |

If you have a question, look here first!!!

Glad you're ok. To answer your question, the intake would need a tune, but from what most vendors that make exhaust systems say, you do not need a tune just for a cat back. So if you want both, get the Accessport and spend the money on a good protune or etune as opposed to using cobb's ots maps. Also a good rule of thumb would be to check your oil levels after the break in period as well as every other gas fill up after that. I guess these engines have been messed up due to low oil. Never hurts to check and have a spare quart of oil in the trunk One more thing, how the heck did your Ford focus not spin the front wheels constantly with 500whp?! |

Can you answer and add how to properly check your oil level to this faq? I've been seeing conflicting methods, such as checking it in the morning to checking it when the engine is warm.

Thanks for the info though and the heads up on the oil. I'll be sure to check it often. That being said break in period is generally 1k miles correct? |

Oh another quick question, Oil Catch cans worth it on this platform? On the ST we used 2 Oil Catch cans, one before the PCV and one before the turbo. Does the FA platform require or recommend this type of setup?

If you have a question, look here first!!!
Okay:
Welcome, glad you're okay. Please read all of the stickies. An intake will require a tune. The general rule of thumb here is that any time you alter anything that is between a sensor and the motor, or between the motor and a sensor you will have a problem. The ETS intake is supposed to have similar MAF scaling to stock, and therefore supposedly works without a tune, but I wouldn't do it personally as these motors are very sensitive. A cat back will never require a tune. Yes we have a PCV and CCV system that will require a catch can or AOS, I recommend Crawford's, once you start blowing more boost, or can be used preventatively. Check your oil every fill up over the break in period, and again once out to get a feel for how much oil the car uses. After that check it every other fill or less depending on how confident you are. I check mine damn nearly every fill up. It is best to let it sit before checking, use the lowest level in the dipstick for your reference point. You can also edit posts to avoid double posting. Welcome, Enjoy your new subaru! |

The sound difference is minimal and in order to take it out, you need to remove the top airbox. A couple of bolts to remove and then pull the whole assembly off. You will need to do some cutting in order to take the jug off though. |

Is there any new factory tunes that I can get for my 2015 WRX from the Subaru dealer? I've been seeing things about that but I'm not 100% sure. I bought my car last year so if you guys can give me some extra info that would be great.
