IBR says:

The red portion adds plenum space over massive velocity stacks.

The manifold provides "shower-style" port injection into the top of the bell mouth to get the most phase change and cooling benefits from ethanol for the intake charge.

ETA on production units is 2 months. Price is estimated at $1,499.

There will be good gains over their BRZ intake manifold kit.

The shower-style fuel injection is popular in motorcycles and F1 engines. By injecting the fuel at the top of the the plenum it allows for more time to cool the intake charge and better fuel atomization (air/fuel mixing). The cooler, more atomized intake charge should provide better combustion, more power and less pre-ignition/detonation.

So it'll entirely replace every aspect of the intake mani rather than bolt up to their BRZ kit?

Exactly, it's an entire intake manifold & tgv replacement.

If so, then they are making these for the fa20dit and testing.

edit: Confirmed FA20dit.

pretty sure IBR is planning on releasing versions for both FA20 and 24 after testing.

I have a bugeye that is basically a shell at this moment i'm building. building mostly all new wiring harnesses and will be ran off a Link G4+ thunder. the plan all along has been to use a IAG stage 4 block but this has my interest peaked at the possibility of swapping in a FA24.
I'm already planning tubular subframes and EPAS power steering so none of that would be a problem.

does anyone have any insight or suggestions to how that might work out?

^^ Funny you mentioned the Link ecu's, I did a live chat with one of the tech guys the other day. He mentioned that ecu wouldn't work with our cars because it has to many can bus systems. The correct ecu that would potentially work is the G4 + Force GDI fyi.

I've been looking into other options beside the Motec Ecu's, which are extremely expensive but you get what you pay for.

I think Syvec's has a plug and play solution but it might be for the STi. Doesn't actually break it down on their site.

Has anyone determined if the FA24 is swappable into a VA chassis?

I believe someone said that there would need to be alot of custom work. Dont know if that is credible. Wait to see which engine the new sti uses, hopefully they used a beefed up fa20. Swapping in a stronger oem block beats built engine any day.

Yeah, I thought I read something like that on the Prime Motoring Instagram, but I assumed it was related to fitting in the SGP chassis. It seems like they are using a lot of FA20 parts, but they don't go into any detail on what bolts up and what doesn't. It'd be awesome if the next STI gets an FA24 and a lot of FA20 parts just bolt on without a problem.

Without going off on too much of a tangent, it would make sense to me for Subaru to just stop offering the FA20 in the US and only use the FA24 for turbocharged applications. I could see them using it tuned for 87 octane in the WRX with the current transmission choices to make it appealing to more buyers and keep the power difference wide between WRX and STI.

They haven't posted any updates.

They were waiting on the HPFP & Cobb's speed density tuning to push further. Cobb's SD tuning is available now.. but IBR's HPFP release didn't go very smoothly from what I've gathered.

Makes me wish that this post was more technical in nature and read as technical notes, thoughts, etc
