Default 449.9whp STI *UPDATE- 504whp and 11.2@128mph*

Yesterday we retune our 2004 STI on the dyno.
Two weeks ago we run 2 cunsecutive pass of 11.82@119mph but we want to improve our time.
We expect that this few additional horsepower help us to achieve at least 120mph and maybe 11.6sec

All this horspower is on stock block, head, clutch.

Good day for the STI are here.

wow, that added tuning REALLY helped out your midrange. peak is almost the same, but the area under the curve is much much better. nice numbers.

No kidding. What kind of changes did you make in the midrange. Either you had a suck-ass tune to begin with, or you upped the midrange boost. What happened? That is a huge improvement!

I adjust de start boost setting of the boost controller (greddy eo1).

The start boost is the setting that help us to prevent that the wastegate open earlier that we want.
When we adjust this setting was easy to gain boost on that range of the rpm.

Thumbs up

Good job Gadiel. Congrats to you and the Big Valley team. Sigan para alante con el carrito!
I can't wait to see that car in the 1/4mile track again. With that power I know that is going to touch the 11.6 for sure.
Keep us updated!

Hi

Stupid question, but why are you running the greddy emanage and a UTEC, wouldn't the UTEC do everything you need?

Also, since most people wouldn't use C16 for daily use, how much HP do you think you would have on 93/4 octane?

PS Puerto Rico women are hot.

Thanks

I think he means how come he is using the e01 to manage his boost instead of the UTEC.

this is my limited take on things....

The UTEc is good for controlling boost to a certain point. After that point(maybe 20+psi?) the UTec has a problem sustaining boost because of the stock solenoid that it is controlling. Or at least that what i've come to believe.

i thought that external wastegates do not use a solonoid, making an electronic controler obsolete? i thought external wastegate used an adj. screw to regulate the internal spring pressure on the valve? what type of wastegate are you using?

what turbo are you running and down pipe?

External wastegates still use a controller of some sort to vary the boost beyond the level the spring alone can sustain. You can also use the positive boost to force the gate shut aswell as not opening it. This allows a weak spring to be used but still hold high boost levels.

well, unless the wastegate has a line on both sides of the internal diaphram, that would be impossible! usually the spring is plenty strong enough to hold the valve shut and the positive boost pressure works against the spring to open the valve. adjustment is made by tightining or loosening the spring pressure. i have never seen an external wastegate that still uses a solonoid! please explain! you mean there are two sealed areas on each side of the diaphram? one would help valve to open with boost at a certian level(normal), and one on the back side of diaphram that could be used to help the spring stay closed. i don't think so.
