removing auto dimming morror
Hopefully someone can give me a good answer here. I did a bit of searching for this and I did find the install instructions from subaruparts.com but I would like to know a definative answer.
I got my windows tinted Saturday and the installer was afraid to remove the mirror since it was not obvious how to remove it. After looking at it myself, I am not so sure either. Is it just a matter of twisting it and sliding it off or something else. I want to get the tint strip across the front of the car and would like to remove the mirror for the guy. Thanks

bump
Does no one know this or is this something that is easy. I know it is not the "easiest" question I have seen on here
Thanks |

I have the auto-dimming mirror install instructions at home. If you can wait until tonight, I can email you a scanned copy.

instructions
I saw the install instructions on subaruparts.com but it is not very descriptive. I am just not sure if you pull the plastic trim off the bottom to acess a screw or if there is some sort of mechanism that just releases the mirror from the window. I don't need to remove it completly from the car just hang it down so the tint guy can put the tint on.
There is a hole in the bottom but I did not notice anything up inside. I guess I am just missing the obvious ... |

thanks
Just twist and pull out at the base on the windshield right?
When I saw the instructions, it looked like this was the case but you hate to twist something that is not meant too. This is the first time I have seen one that did not have a screw holding it on. I think the guy just forgot to do the front tint. He said he had to twist the Jetta that he had done prior and it did not work on my car.... Thanks |
