Default Clear Bra Installers in the DMV area!

Hey guys,

I was searching the chapter forum and didn't see any recent posts about clear bra installers. I found a couple in the area, but was wondering if anyone had a good/bad experience at any of the local places!

Also, I am leaning towards the xPel Ultimate for just the full front (bumper, hood, side mirrors, pillars) , but anyone do just half the hood + bumper?

Thanks!

My buddy installs clearbras! He actually uses Suntek. He's pretty busy as he does work for several dealerships but I can put you in contact with him.

Driven Dynamics in Rockville did mine when I first got my car. They work with Xpel on a regular basis so they know what their doing.

Mine was a pre-cut 3m kit so it covers full front bumper and only half the hood and fenders.

Just picked up a 2017 CBS wrx. Looking to get a clear bra. I'm in the baltimore area. Anyone know good spots? Also, how do you like the half hood? Any buildup along the line when you clean the hood?

No build on mine. Just have to be careful when using claybar cause that will get caught on the bra

I had my 3M clear bra (half hood, mirrors, full bumper, half quarter panels) done for a really good cash price at TNT Tint in Sterling VA.

Driven Dynamics also installed the XPEL kit on my 2008 Forester XT. Great shop and highly recommended!

Default Resurrecting an Old Thread...

Driven Dynamics is shown as permanently closed. Any new recommendations in the DMV area, especially the V?

Ah right, the owner of Driven Dynamics moved on to a different career path.

I would try Automotive Aesthetics if you are in or near Charlottesville, VA. https://www.automotiveaesthetic.com/

Default Experience with Proshield Sterling Va?

They say all they do is PPF but they have a dizzying array of films. VenutreShield Xpel Suntek Brilla and Premium Shield

Any comments on the company and which of the products might be good for a white car?

I know I have had a bad experience with Venturshield in 2009 on a black car

Default Encouraging Talk with ProShield in Sterling, VA

I requested a quote from ProShield in Sterling, VA.

The owner, David Saya, called and emailed within an hour of my web request and politely explained what he does to differentiate his services from the others in the area.

I was impressed by his thoughtfulness and knowledge.

I have had experience with 4 PPF packages over the years in the family, since 2006 and he pretty much summarized the experiences I had with them.

He provided pricing of $800 for partial and $1600 for full, not the cheapest, but not the most expensive, and he provides some extras that others do not, including wrapped edges, and although he uses computer cut patterns, he does his own custom cuts because he does not like the computer patterns.

For example, the computer patterns do not give full mirror coverage, so he will do his own custom cut because he likes full coverage.

If you buy extras like the rocker panels ($200 a side) he might throw in extras such as door handle cups.

He recommends two films for my white car, Suntek Ultra and Premium Shield Elite SH. He also uses 3M but does not recommend it unless you are tracking the car. It is the thickest, and most protective, but on a white car like I will have, it will yellow over time due to the heavy adhesive (remember, 3M originally developed the film for aircraft).

He also sells for a big up charge, the premium Clearguard Nano. He also has XPEL and will use it if you want, but does not like it as much. He portrays himself as a real artist and enthusiast for the work.

He was very easy to talk to and while I don't have my car until September, I am pretty much set on using him. He portrays himself as a real artist and enthusiast for the work.

I recommend you contact him if you need a PPF job done in the DMV.

Default Pro Shield, Inc. Sterling, VA

Finally got PPF installed at

Pro Shield, Inc.
45751 Elmwood Ct
Sterling, VA 20166

703-304-9898

The owner, David Saya, did a great job, using Suntek Ultra, 10 year warranty. I was also given a choice of using the thicker 3M film, but having several cars already done in 3M, I wanted to see how the competition did.

I just had a standard partial front (half hood, half fenders, bumper, lights, mirrors, and the crazy rocker panel/side skirts done (what a bad design). Where possible, he did wrap the edges. He also did the mirrors in his own pattern, not liking the computer cut outs. He did a very good job on my car and I would recommend him without hesitation!

He had several cars in there, high end cars in the shop as well as 4 Teslas where it seemed the owners were getting a full body treatment.

One Tesla in particular was going from gloss white to a matte finish, with full body coverage in a matte finished film, with blacked out chrome. The workmanship was amazingly good, including all wrapped edges as standard. Addition of a Gyeon ceramic coating made the film as slick as paint, slicker. I was amazed at that product also, as I had seen the Tesla the day earlier with no ceramic coat, and when I picked my car up the next day, with the ceramic coat, where the matte coating had changed character completely from feeling like a matte film to slicker than paint...

Again, Pro Shield is highly recommended. Not only does David do good work, he is also very communicative when you ask questions, answering within a couple of hours to a couple of minutes.

Old thread but thanks Chas2 for the info on Proshield. David just did a full front on my new ride and it came out great! He had a guy come to his shop for the window tint while he was doing the PPF install as well which looks fantastic. Thanks again!
