I retract my comment earlier about when we can expect to see the new STI. March 2023 production begins.

New WRX November 2022.

Sorry guys, weve got some waiting to do.

February the 21MY will begin production till October 21.

If that's true, that means I'm at least 4 years away from buying a new STI. Insane.

Yeah, we wouldn't be seeing the car we are seeing if it were that far off.

I think its very possible as there was a leak that the engineers had been developing a specifically tuned header for the FA2.4 exclusively for the STI...which to me(if true), indicates that they want to keep the sound while increasing the efficiency, or at least for it to have a more distinct sound than the rest of the lineup.

I believe the new wrx is coming next year without a doubt, as the model is undergoing final testing at home in japan as well. and no there is no sound of the exhaust as link says. it seems the publisher wants to edit the video of the sound first before releasing it in a newer article. but the testing and sightings are really beginning to ramp up. seeing the real interiors is only a matter of time

I like a nice sounding exhaust note as much as the next guy, but the emphasis on it confounds me, I mean I cant remember a time when it figured into whether or not I would purchase a car.

I agree. I wonder how long before we see the STI in camo. In the meantime, we look forward to more power and acceleration in a new body. It is a shame that subaru may have no surprise for us for an alternate body style

I've always assumed there's a law in Japan (and possibly other countries) that require it.

backup camera, and when you are driving away from a light, do you need to see what is behind you?

you'd hate driving a panel van

end of the day, I can't think of a single example of a sedan sold in the USA with a rear wiper, it's kind of silly to pine over it, if it's a big enough deal do what everyone else that wants one does, if you have to, overnight the parts from Japan. then decimate all at race war.

back when I had my wagon (and cared more about silly things like this), the roof rack delete parts were in the Subaru system and I was able to order them from the dealer, which was cool. I had to spend a lot of money to get the version 7 sti wheels though. wish I had kept those, they would look good on the BRZ.

The rear wiper makes that car. At that angle front clip very Legacy-ish.

Back up cameras are susceptible to condensation as well. I'm genuinely surprised you can't imagine a scenario where you're at a stop light and you need situational awareness to know that the person behind you isn't stopping in time and you need to pull forward or to the side to avoid a collision. Yes, yes we all need to see what is behind us.

Correct, and thus I don't.

in a car, or on a motorcycle?

when I'm on my motorcycle I'm spending most of my time at stoplights looking behind me. if I'll be sandwiched between two cars, I can ditch and run. if I'm number one at the light, I can turn in a tight enough radius to hopefully get out of the way without pulling into the intersection fully. that's how I always plan to react, anyway.

in my car, what am I supposed to do if I see someone coming? pull into cross traffic, run into the car in front of me? option 1 puts me at fault for a collision and probably has someone hitting the side of my vehicle, maybe even the door closest to me. I'd rather have the guarantee of a car hitting me squarely in the back, than maybe have a car hit the side. option 2 is just silly.

my only plan in my car if I see someone coming up too fast to stop is to lean my head on the headrest so I minimize head trauma and take my hands off my steering wheel and put them in my lap so hopefully I don't end up with broken hands. it didn't work out well for Dr. Strange.

and I don't need a completely clear rear window to see someone coming in too hot.
