Default 07 to 06 swap

I have 2 WRX wagons, 1 a 2006 and another 2007.

I am looking to swap all components from the 07 to the 06 Items include: Engine, ecu, all mods etc.

my question is.. can i use an 07 ecu on a 06. what complications might I run into and what other items may I be missing to complete the transfer.

Thank you

Look in the Conversions forum. Only hiccup I can think of is the 07 key must be used as the ECU is looking for that key's chip to start. Bigger question is why? It might be easier to just swap mods if the 06 motor is fine and if not, it would be easier to have a built motor installed if the 06 motor is toast. 06/07 are twins so it should be a simple swap though.

Thank you for the response and sorry for my late reply. My 06 has a bad engine and my 07 is full of rust but has a full working engine

From disassembling the 06 and 07, it looks like the engine harness is different between the two. my only notice so far. Not that that is a problem. Just throwing it out there... unless my donor car is frankenstein'd
