Did you bring this car from Europe or Japan? I believe the WRX 2002 model year was the first to be sold in the US. I bought my first bugeye that year and it was a big deal to be able to find one in WRB, at least in northern California where I lived.

Yea, first year in the states for the WRX was 2002. 1993 was the first year of the WRX globally. Mine is an import from Japan. Got to pick it up in September out in Los Angeles and drove it back to Dallas. Quite an adventure, but the car is great. Picked it up with around 82,000km and just turned over 86,000km this afternoon as a matter of fact.

I remember the first time I saw a bugeye when they first came out here in Texas. It was WRB and just looked awesome, so unique compared to everything else around. Still love the look because it's just so odd and quirky and unique.

36 here, had a bugeye WRX sedan for 7 years, but always wished it was a wagon. Upgraded to a 2013 WRX wagon last year, but then gas prices skyrocketed and I didn't want to swing the payments + added gas cost any more, so I got a Honda Fit. 6 months later I miss my Scooby, so picked up another WRX - 2004 wagon this time. I have and plan to keep the mods minimal - pretty wheels, minimal lowering, exhaust, BOV, and that's probably it for the most part.

Every time I see some 20-something bro vaping in one I question if I'm "too old" for a WRX, but then I remember I don't really care, haha. They make me happy.

And that's how you know you've actually grown up. When the "in crowd" says you're too old for something, you find that your fields are barren and that you have no f*cks to give.

I'm just a touch over 30 (33), and I have a 19' WRX. Came from an 02 WRX Wagon. Before that I had a 95 Roadmaster that I dumped a ton of money into it. Hard to beat what the WRX has to offer me

33 and have a 19 STI with wing. In my eyes, older generations thought the Superbird with wing was awesome, and if I had any f***s to give, that would be my response.

I think to be in your 30s and to own a 190hp huge minivan is worse than owning a wrx or sti in your 30s... this is my view coming from a car enthusiast

43, WRX is my first Suabru.

First test drove a Bugeye WRX when I was 27 in 2002. Decided to pass at the time (kick myself now over that) but filed away somewhere in my head that someday I'd pull the trigger on one. Didn't realize it'd be 16 years later though! Heh...

Tire rack. If budget is an issue, General Altimax (studable, but work great studless I'm told). If not, Michelin X-ice xi3s.

42 here, have had my 2002 SRP bugeye wagon for almost 14 years. I haven't daily driven it since 2015 when it got upgraded to a 2.2 stroker setup. It now sleeps in the garage under a car cover with a battery tender. It still brings a smile to my face every time I drive it!
