Default First real Subie!!

Howdy everyone!
Iím a GT86 owner and this past weekend I went out and grabbed another boxer but this time I went for a blob eye WRX!! Iím very excited to join the club and see what the full potential of these little sedans are.

I drove the car home from Pueblo, Colorado and was practically smiling the whole 4 hour drive back to NM. There were a couple things that I was curious about and was hoping some of the more knowledgeable members can help me out.
Car is stage 2 with a turbo back and sti top mount and up pipe. I believe the turbo is from Turbo Lab of America and is a stock TD04 with an upgraded 9 blade turbine wheel and billet compressor wheel.
Now the info I have been reading says the TD04 spools around 2700-3300 and pulls till 5200ish but the TD04 in my WRX spools at 3500-4000 and pulls almost well past 5500. I just want to know if this is by design with this turbo to limit early torque but any information would be helpful.

Thanks guys very happy to join the club

Stage 2 using Cobb Accessories Port? What’s your elevation in NM? That plays a role. Honestly there’s a lot of factors that play a role.

Yes stage 2 using Cobb AP. Elevation is about a mile up here and the car was tuned in Pueblo which is same elevation. Car hits 17lbs so it doesnít feel like a boost leak but just a little later than I expected and pulls quite a bit more than what I was expecting. I was ready for the car to fall flat on its face at 5k rpms

Sounds like elevation. My car was tuned while living in NY and my VF34 spools by 2900 there. While I'm in UT it spools at 3200. Only difference is elevation as I use the 91oct tune.

Thanks for the information I figured it had to do with my elevation a bit I just wanted clarification. Right now Iím on the economy tune and Iím liking the performance combined with my MPG but Iíll be sure to try out the more aggressive tunes he has loaded to see if thereís any difference in spool time.
