So I REALLY love the sound of the Tomei Expreme Ti but I also LOVE the looks of a quad tip, especially the Invidia R400 Gemini. Does anybody have an opinion on what is the loudest yet DEEPEST and most RUMBLY exhaust (like the Tomei) but is a dual exit quad tip?
Try the ETS Extreme. No mufflers or resonators. Probably the loudest or one of the loudest quad-tip exhausts for our cars.

+1 for the ETS extreme. Best catback you can get if you plan on keeping the stock downpipe.

I know I'm being nit picky but why the hell didn't ETS just use 4 inch tips? Looks WAY better. That's a huge reason I love the look of the Invidia Gemini.

Wild question but any idea on which would sound closer to a G200 on a EJ... The q300 vs the r400?

4" is a little too big IMO. And I'm surprised you'd prefer those particular tips considering they're single wall. Versus ETS' double wall tips.

R400 tips look like blue toilet paper rolls.

What's the benefit (or differences in general) between single and double wall? I would think double wall decreases internal diameter thus not allowing a deeper tone from an actually larger pipe/tip.

No benefits to my knowledge. Purely aesthetics. I don't think tip size has much to do with sound when you're talking about a half inch difference.

I halfway think that too. I (the ricer kid in me) still like to think exhaust tip size might play SOME roll. Lol

If SOMEONE could just make an exhaust that looks like the R400 with that tip size, but sound like the Tomei Expreme...I'd be so freakin happy!!

How about Perrin Stealth?
Heard great things on Tomei Ti Expreme.
I bought the headers.

Is there a Graph somewhere that identifies the TQ and HP gain at RPM for CBE?

years of reading, it seems miniumal at 5-10 depending if being tunned. and then your reaching
$1000-$2000. to gain 10HP and drop a couple pounds

Iíve read that the Tomei Expreme cuts abut 25 lbs off of the stock setup.

Excuse the noob question but are the ETS and muffler-less catback variants all good in terms of smog/inspections? I assume it's fine as long as you have the cat, just want to make sure as I'm currently shopping for one.

So this may be a dumb question, and hopefully not one that has been answered already.
My car/exhaust setup: 2011 STI, Perrin DP, Perrin 3" midpipe, Nameless muffler deletes.
I have a baby on the way and want a quieter exhaust. A 2017 fitment Invidia Q300 came for sale nearby. Would the setup fit on my 2011? The whole catback? Possibly just the axle back?

If your 2011 STI is a sedan, yes the whole catback will fit. If it is a hatchback, no.

That’s awesome news! I thought that Invidia had to produce a new part number specific to the 15+ due to a cross member fitment conflict. I will contact the seller of the exhaust I found and make an offer, thanks !

You may want to do some more research before committing to the purchase.

http://www.iwsti.com/forums/2015-sti.../topics/275595

https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2621711

You may have issues with the hangers lengths and possibly locations.

^^ Thus the reason leading me here. I read through the forums you linked above already. They are talking about if a 2011-2014 version of the Q300 will fit the 2015+ and not the other way around. If there is going to be fitment issues (the axle-back is all i really need to fit) then I obviously want to know.

the Q300 "axle back" section does not bolt together at the factory location (it needs Invidia midpipe).

I don't have a factory location. If you compare the "Axle Back" portion to a Perrin exhaust, its almost identical.
What I am saying is, at the end of the mid-pipe is the Y-pipe where the two mufflers mount up. That Y-Pipe and muffler section looks like it would mount right up to my currently installed Perrin mid-pipe, just unsure if hangars would be in the right location on the mufflers themselves.

Edit:
after comparing, it does look like the perrin Y-pipe and invidia y-pipe have different connectors
Might be SOL on this sale

So it this a good comparison that the Invidia q300 is around 95 DB and the Tomei appears to be around 105... So guessing the R400 is 99 based on FT86 db ratings...

Wondering how bad drone is... I need to pick the 300 or the 400 and having a tough time! lol

I had a 15' SPT on a Catted Cobb and wanted a little more sound and cleaner with less drone if anyone is familiar to point me in the right direction. = )

Got pulled over yesterday and got a fix it ticket for too loud of an exhaust and no front plate. Have Tomei ELH and Nameless Performance Turboback with muffler deletes. I will admit the cop does have a point, it is quite loud under any sort of acceleration. Now contemplating switching the axleback part to 4 or 5" muffler from nameless.

But a part of me is really liking the Tomei Titanium CBE. I haven't had the chance to listen to one in person, but would the Tomei be louder than the muffler deletes?

Alright guys, the R400 paired with ETS catted j pipe is making my ears bleed from all the drone. I don't want to go too quiet but I do some highway driving every couple weeks and it's just killing me. It's a shame since it sounds so good besides that...
Any suggestions(for WRX)? I've been looking at all the major brands but it's hard to choose.

edit: settled on a corsa.

Just bought an Ark Performance exhaust to replace the DRONEY ass R400. I can really say there is no drone at all, it does sound quieter but in a more refined way.

Good choice. I am pleasantly surprised by how well this exhaust performs WRT noise at elevated power levels.

No way, I went from Nameless muffler delete to Tomei CBE and it is a lot quieter.
