Default New and confused

I signed up to try get help with a problem on an 09 Impreza. It is a problem that has come up so many times, that I am actually afraid to ask it. It seems it doesn't matter though because I can't post till I have three legitimate replies. I have researched this problem online, and have even contacted a Subaru person locally.

How should I obtain my other two replies so I can post this question?

The test connectors were hooked up under dash. CEL started flashing, and fans started kicking on and off constantly. Upon reading codes.
4 came up as set, and then the same 4 came up as pending. I cleared them. They immediately returned..but only one set this time. I thought the connectors had been disconnected at the time. Had them disconnect the green connectors, and cleared codes again. At this point everything I have been told, or read says everything should have returned to normal. Still CEL, and same 4 codes. Why with the connectors separated, is clearing the codes not resetting the CEL?

If they come back right away there’s probably more to it and a simple reset isn’t going to do it. That’s just a guess tho.

They're not staying reset because the ecu is detecting the issue is still there. List what codes you're seeing.
