Cool Geeks for hire (Albany area)

Hey, anyone here work for a company in the Albany area that's hiring IT types?

I've been working as a programmer for Burlington Coat Factory/Cohoes for the past 3 years, living in rural New Hampshire, and me and my g/f are looking for a change of scenery.

To make a long story short, we found a great house that we can afford in Albany, are now both looking for IT-type jobs in the area.

So, if anyone works for a company that's hiring programmers, sysadmins, network engineers, project managers, software architects, or anything related, could you please drop me a PM/email/IM

Thanks!

Do you want to stay in the same industry or would you try insurance sales? I know someone hiring in insurance sales in a LI based company.

I also have contacts in the Litigation Support Services as well as law firms that always need boxes.

This is an actual job application a 17 year old boy submitted at a McDonald`s fast-food

NAME: Dikey Hurtz <--yeah that`s his real name...Oh boy-if u believe that..
SEX: Not yet. Still waiting for the right person.
DESIRED POSITION: Company`s President or Vice President. But seriously, whatever`s available.
If I was in a position to be picky, I wouldn`t be applying here in the first place.
DESIRED SALARY: $185,000 a year plus stock options and a Michael Ovitz style severance
package. If that`s not Possible, make an offer and we can haggle.
EDUCATION: Yes.

SALARY: Less than I`m worth.
MOST NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENT: My incredible collection of stolen pens and post-it notes.

DO YOU HAVE ANY PHYSICAL CONDITIONS THAT WOULD PROHIBIT YOU FROM LIFTING
UP TO 50 LBS?: 50 lbs of what?
DO YOU HAVE A CAR?: I think the more appropriate question here would
be "Do you have a car that runs?"
HAVE YOU RECEIVED ANY SPECIAL AWARDS OR RECOGNITION?: I may already
be a winner of the Publishers Clearing house sweepstakes.
DO YOU SMOKE?: On the job no, on my breaks yes.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE DOING IN FIVE YEARS?: Living in the Bahamas
with a fabulously wealthy dumb sexy blonde super model who thinks I`m
the greatest thing since sliced bread. Actually, I`d like to be doing that now.

KNOWLEDGE?: Yes. Absolutely.
SIGN HERE: Aries.

To those of you who are looking for a job...I hope this cheered you up a little=)

one of my clients who is the head of purchasing for a major manufacturing company in North Brunswick is looking for part-time help. 5 hours a day, not sure what the pay is, but the work would be typical but stressful and fast-paced office work(eg. filing, computer entry, running around the office to get things done). pretty easy job for someone who is dedicated and can follow simple directions, but definitely will be a lot of work, so don't have interest if you are not very responsible. PM me if interested and i'll get you contact info and make sure you get an interview as well as the position, if you do well at the interview.

Default Possible Opening for Mechanical Engineer

I think I am 99.999% sure I would be leaving my current position as a mechanical engineer at my job to go to another company. I have not given my notice but I am pretty sure they will look for someone...

AutoCAD/SolidEdge experience. I had 3 years of experiences when I started so they are not necessarily looking for senior level engineers. We are located in Holbrook NY (LIE Exit 62)

Email me if you want to know more about the company and salary

[email protected]

Thanks
John

I am looking for any laborer, computer hardware, mechanic (no certification), or basically anything that requires people skills, I have previously posted my resume. However I am after pretty much any side work/anything I can get my hands on, from handywork and roofing to full motor swaps.

Email me if you have any needs.

I will also detail your car for 120$ plus the cost of materials.
Includes: Wash, clay bar, wax, polish, interior detailing, undercarriage washing/rust proofing and wheel cleaning.
Engine detailing is also available for an additional fee depending on age/level of filth of the motor.

Again, email me if you have any jobs available for me and/or need a detailing service.

I cannot travel more than 30 minutes away from area code 06850 (Norwalk, CT).

Thanks Much!

Seeking parts warehouse personnel.

Full time Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm
Starting pay of $11/hr and up to $15/hr after probationary period of 30-60 days. Overtime may be required, maybe an occasional Saturday about two or three times a year.

Monthly bonuses, work clothes allowance, medical benefits, 401k, paid vacation and sick days. Annual review and cost of living raise plus parts profit discretionary bonus.

Easy work for this kind of pay and all you have to do is be there every day on time. Times are tough and jobs aren't this easy to come by. Apply, there's nothing to lose. Only 5 minutes from Bill Kolb Subaru and few yards away from the Bergen/Rockland County line.

something of that sort would suit me perfectly...hit me a PM or email me if you guys have jobs like these.

my wife used to be a bank teller before she quit to have a baby. Not an easy job I would say (standing whole day) and not the safest job either...

I've been unemployed since January 2003; I've been doing misc. jobs on and off -- basically lots of side work.

My experience:

Customer Service Rep (Inside/Outside Sales) 2 Years
Engine Building, Custom Car Creation 2 Years
Linux Admin 5 Years
Win 98/XP/NT/2k 7 Years
Computer Hardware 7 Years
Computer Software Configuration 7 Years
Creating 'Un-Canned Information' Websites 4 Years
Carpenter's Helper 2 Years
Manual Laborer 2 Years

Info: I believe I would fit perfectly into a level 1/2 Helpdesk job; I am EXTREMELY organized and anal about my work. Drop me an email and ill send you a full resume.

Location: Preferably in Connecticut. Will commute to Westchester County/NYC but thats as far as I'll go. Can't really travel when you don't make enough money for gas .

Conclusive Evidence : Point being, you name it; i'll try it. Looking for at least $10/hr. Last real job paid $60/hr but that was an international business to business directory.

Thanks For Any Help you can provide. Hell, if you are local to me I'll even detail/clay-bar your car for a small fee.. build a computer for you, clean your attic, basement, mow your lawn, et al.. you get the picture.. thanks in advance to everyone/anyone.

Regards,
Gered

Default Anyone looking to hire a graphic designer?

If anyone is looking to hire or knows someone who is looking to hire an art director/graphic designer that's currently way overworked, way way underpaid and disgustingly under appreciated please hook a fellow NASIOC'er up. Freelance, part time, full time, I'm open to anything that will allow me the opportunity to escape my current job.
