Lol. That's what they all tell you. My company has been acquired 3 times in 4 years. That's the company line every time it gets worse. Even the controller at the small company they were for 30 years would use that line. That's code for: "if we could pay less we would, but we'll keep trying"

Figured you guys might. I dug out my almost completely rebuilt 2.5 heads yesterday to finish them, need to adjust shims. I'll need my other 2.2 block bored to match some Wiseco K601M975 pistons on sti rods.

Generally speaking, you can put a smaller combustion chamber diameter head on a larger bore but not the other way around... Are you aware of this and have verified it won't be a problem?

I have 99mm bore heads on a 97mm bore and 100mm head gaskets right now making 330whp. BUT its been cutting up at high rpms over 20psi and cant rule out the mushroom as a cause. It runs well at 16psi i just want to build a spare block. I prefer 2.2. My spare heads are from a ej25de and have the cloverleaf chambers that fit inside even the 2.0 bore, but to put them on a 2.2 block i need deeper pistons. The wisecos are 24cc or something and should give me an 8.5:1 ratio and i can go back to a 2.2 head gasket. Im looking for 400whp.

Thats the beauty with phase one stuff. Trial and error is cheap. Just gotta keep the AAA plus renewed

What did you change in the map between those two runs? Can you post screenshots of before/after?

Thats when the weather changed and i started getting compressor surge that screws with my maf volts and it turn screws with my fueling. I dont think the weather had much to do with it but i ran that psi no problem until it got cold out, now i cant go over 15 without surge. Cant figure it out

Why does it take till after 4k to hit full boost? Is that normal for that turbo/engine combo?

Not sure, its always been a slow spooler. i just thought it was from the big fmic and 2.5" piping on a 2.2L. I also have a small 1.625 ID uppipe, huge intake ports and valves, NA cams, many factors i guess

Not always a bad thing or a problem. The power curves look pretty good.

Why didn't you mention the uppipe gasket leak you found?

Ya that too. I installed a new gasket in it to no avail, must have warped flange. I going to be converting it to a Saturn downpipe 3 bolt gasket/flange once i pick up a gasket and burn some flanges

Finally blew it up this morning. I suspect a piston. Its still running but smoking like crazy. I dont think its the turbo because its misfiring, no knocking, good oil pressure, at least until its empty.

It maybe could be a head gasket but I don't think they leak oil into the cylinders too often. Im pretty sure I have a significant gap between a piston and a wall in one or more of the bores. It wasnt running right all morning then a forth gear pull did her in. I dont mind, I have more blocks. I was just hoping to finish my next build first, now im going to be rushed which means cut corners.

I have an 07 long block with a broken cam gear, i planned on using it with a spare set of heads i have. We could work something out since i have to pull it and split it anyway.
