You can also do the same with 9005 bulbs to fit 9006 sockets. (for the fog lights)

We sell h9 at AutoZone but it's only offered as a standard halogen. I'm gonna guess that it's not gonna be brighter than what I have so I think I'm just gonna wait and save and do a proper hid kit. Unless some one has both h9 and h11 to compare. And both should be standard

Ok so just did some digging

H11zxe
4200k
55w
1345 lumens

H9 standard
3200k
55w
2099 lumens

So with those numbers which would be brighter and shine better. Is a higher color temp better or a higher lumens

Edit
So I just compared standard and zxe 9005 high beams.
Both have same lumens 1700 bit color temps are diff 3200k and 4200k but there is deff a difference in brightness

3200k is the color of a standard bulb in your house. 4200k is the color of a CFL or fluorescent bulb. I think the color gives the illusion of a brighter bulb. The white light is very easy on the eyes compared to the yellowish hue of the OEM bulb, when behind the wheel.
The color temp does not dictate the brightness of the lightbulb. Also, tinting a halogen bulb to give off white light does not make it brighter.

Like I said.. MUCH brighter..

It is the lumens that determin brightness. The 3200k, etc is the color only. 2099 lumens is way brighter than 1345 lumens.

4200k is a little bit more on the blue side compared to 3200k but it isn't that much of a difference. Lights that are tinted more toward blue might be perceived to be brighter by some people, but that's just because most people's eyes are more sensitive to blue light compared to yellow light. It's not going to overcome the difference between 754 lumens though.

I have a flashlight that's about 750 lumens and it lights up an entire field all by itself.. 750 lumens is a lot of light. It's a massive difference between those two light bulbs.

Where have you seen a weighted knob for our cars?

Any shift knob that fits the WRX should work on the 2.5i 5-speed...

I have one of these-- It weighs about 1 pound.
http://www.bloxracing.com/bloxshop/i...product_id=308

I took it off though, using a COBB Delrin now.. Love the COBB Delrin knob.. Blox was great too, just a lot different, and got really cold in the winter, and really hot in the summer.. The Delrin stays very comfortable no matter what, and is a lot bigger.

Is it as big as stock?, I'm looking to stay the same size or go taller if I can. Looking a few nice ones from lathe werks as well.

H9s ARE a standard non-tinted halogen bulb, that's the beauty about this mod. Comparison? 2100 lumens vs 1350. Nuff said.

WTF kind of bulb are you thinking about when I said h9? Spending $10 compared to several hundreds for a "proper hid kit" seems like a no brainer to me...

The BLOX stainless knob is smaller in diameter than stock.. quite a bit smaller.. That's the biggest thing I dislike about it actually. It looks sweet though. As far as how high it is, I think it is a little bit lower.

BLOX make a spherical stainless knob too, but I don't think it's a whole lot bigger. For me that COBB knob is the perfect size, and it is spherical too.. it is a little bigger than stock in diameter I would estimate. It is not nearly as heavy though obviously..

By your reasoning then everyone is retarded for doin hids then. I know what a h9 bulb is. Its just a halogen bulb. I was comparing a h9 to h11 and as stated if a h9 isn't brighter than what I have I'm not gonna do it. I'm waiting to do the hid retrofit. Hid bulb will be brighter than the h9 and that sir is a no brainer. I see doing double work and more money stupid. If I do the h9 and its not bright like I want (hid equivalent) then I'm not spending time and money. That's why I asked for a comparison of a h9 and h11.

Edit
You were also late on responding. I already figured out there is a diff in lumens.

So then why do the tinted shine better on a wet or snow covered road. I know I couldnt see **** in the rain with a standard but with the higher color I can. So wouldnt that be better. Sorry for sounding stupid. Just never got this into on headlights and thanks for the help. Makes sense now u want more lumens but isn't a high color temp better too

Actually it's the lower colors (yellow) that work better in rain and fog. Reason why you see most fog lights being yellow.

The higher colors (blue/purple) actually cause your eyes more strain when trying to concentrate on seeing what's in front of you.

High lumens and low color temp 4000k-4300k is best. The more color (higher color temp) you have the less usable light you'll have... Which is why 3000k (yellow) provide the best lighting in inclement weather. I have H9 bulbs in my headlights, 9005 in my high beams, as well as yellow 9005 in my fogs, and yellow bulbs in my HELLA fog lights.

Kartboy SS is very nice. I have it paired with both front and rear bushings. I also have a Cobb delrin knob. I highly recommend all of them.

Use some force with a needle nose pliers to rip the o-ring out. It is in tight, so if you don't have o-ring pliers it is kind of a pain. it is metal, and can take a pounding, just try not to bend it or crease it.

Make sure to re-grease the Kartboys SS. You can re-use the grease from your stock shifter. They put A LOT of grease in there.

Tell her to order some front and rear Kartboys bushings. Without them the shifts will still be shorter but they will still be sloppy.

With the bushings it removes nearly all of the shifter play and gives you crisp, positive shifts.

Oh and the o-ring is more of an almost complete "o", so I guess a C? Lol.
