Just found out ThrottleHappy has tunes for the Legacy and a repeat customer discount, so I may hop on that. This car has similar lugging at low speeds.

Id be suprised if he didnít

I just finally got my tune update fir my lightweight flywheel, but im not at home to test it out

I bet in the long run you might get better mpg with the legacy since it isnít underpowered....

What else is different?

As for your oil leak I believe the recall was for the oil being burnt in the cylinder rather than losing it out of the engine so I wouldnít think your oil issue would apply.

Not 100% sure if that is the case though.
same platform as the outback I believe.

So Iím looking to get another fumoto valve for the Legacy, what do you guys think of the new SX series:

http://www.fumotousa.com/sx-series-valves.php

Iíve also read others have used the Stahlbus drain valve as well:

https://www.stahlbus-us.com/oil-drai...55s431gukf7544

I need to crawl under my car and see how the drain plug is oriented and which one would work best. Will probably just go with the F108s

Same oil pan, so should be the same.

I have 2 of the sx series on 2 of my other vehicles with no complaints so far. I like the ability to rotate it

The other day I was looking at my brakes. I do a lot (!) of engine braking so at 30k miles, my pads are pretty good still, but I feel there is a lot of brake pedal gap. Also there is a light film/glaze on my rotors.

Has anyone changed out their brakes/rotors/pads before?

Does anyone have any suggestions for an upgrade? Would larger rotors be worth it or have any issues during install?

Unless your car canít lock the brakes up then upgrading brakes isnít really worth tthe time/cost. Or if you track it or something.

Mine have about half life left at 100k.

Also mine are glazed a little as well. I donít use them much on my commute.

Stainless lines + go heat up your brakes. No reason to install bigger brakes on this car

I bought 2012 WRX EBC rotors and bare OEM WRX caliper brackets. The pad is the same dimension, and the caliper itself is the same. Upgraded to EBC yellow pads. Night and Day braking feel and power.

Its just the brake light switch; The same part Toyota has used and recalled for years, and its manufactured by Nissan. Yay global supply chain.

I had to replace this part in May last year, as well as several other people on this site. Think SOA can just give me back my $12.72? LOL

Once the recall parts are available and able to be replaced , call subaru corporate customer service.

After driving today in snowbaru mode for about 70 miles, i wish this car would have only came in this mode. Maybe with ABS enabled, but if you can pump brakes that isnít a deal breaker either.

Itís amazing how much fun (had this switch for years) and more controllable the car is with all the nanny systems disabled and not leaving you guessing as to how to car will attempt to correct.....

I have 2 other vehicles w/o the nanny (too old) so i am well experienced in how to drive

Havenít done much yet but will when itís closer to being paid off just in case I take it too far.

The car seems really stable and well balanced.

It is, mine is a permanently installed switch. Real quick and easy

So you pulled one of the fuses to disable nanny+abs? I guess this is only for winter driving..

The VDC fuse. This was all discussed years ago, but IIRC: fuse tap to replace fuse, inline fuse holder, switch. Super simple

Works on gravel too, this car doesnít have enough power on dry pavement to care

Just made the call to get on the wait list for the valve spring recall. About 3 months out. That's enough time for techs to perfect process on other people's cars for me.

I hope there is a long wait so I can get a loaner for a while, save me some miles on my car.

Yeah, they literally just took my name and number. Definitely no loaner car option. I remember reading it on here but didn't even ask

I know the BRZ/FR-S is more involved, but it's still a big job for the Impreza/XV

Yeah, gloppy sealant everywhere was the solution after my short block replacement leaked oil 5 visits at the Subaru dealer.
