Here is mine, honestly do not know how much% it is, I know I just picked it from the wall o samples at the tint place. They did the front clear "bra" too, to the top edge of the scoop.

That statement may have made you feel smart. However I do not believe the "AS1 Line" is common knowledge. But I would imagine it's close to 3-4" from the top of the windshield.

Nope, sure didn't.

Go outside... Look at your windshield... look for the AS1 line... if you can't find it... sorry about your luck. Pretty easy to spot.

Yeah, I'm just wondering if people usually do the whole four inches and if they can see fine.

This thread was very helpful when making my decision on tint. It would have been nice if the brand and line of tint was posted along with the pics instead of just the %. Percentages can vary from brand to brand and even from line to line within a single brand. But I guess not everyone will know the brand and line or care to know.

Anyways, I ended up going with Johnson Greystone 10. 10% all around with a windshield strip. IMHO, anything lighter than 20%, maybe even 15% is worthless.

I forgot where I got my 20% from but it was fairly blue, so I redid it 5% with Gila, and it's a lot better now, as well as fairly inexpensive.

Yeah, probably a cheap dyed film. Don't get me wrong, there are some very good premium dyed films out there (and they're nice cause they're non-conductive/signal friendly) but evidently whatever is on your car isn't one of them.

Ah yup, sure is! I had a metallic Johnson film installed on my previous car and that held up flawlessly the entire time I owned it, which was 6.5 years. I'm sure it's still looking dead sexy!

Thanks everyone for the pics- this is really helping! I have an '09 sedan lightning red- I'm thinking i'm going to do 35% all around. I don't want to attract too much attention by going any lower (I personally like to have all of the windows the same level and in Ohio the lowest you can do the fronts are 50%) My other car had 3M and I really liked it but my installer is no longer doing automotive is llumar good quality- if so what line would you all recommend? Also- is there a better season to do it in- is it better to do it in colder or warmer temps?

Llumar is quality stuff. Their 3 most popular lines are ATC - premium dyed film, ATR - hybrid film made of metalized aluminum and dye, and ATX - ceramic film. I've heard good things about all of these lines, just depends what type of film you're looking for. There are pros and cons to each. If you can afford ceramic it's the best of both worlds, but it's pricey. About $350-$450.

It doesn't really matter what season you get your windows tinted in. But the film will settle faster and any water under the film will evaporate quicker when it's warmer out.

I am moving to Ohio in June. Does vehicle inspection for registration also cover tint or is it just a smog test?

I believe it varies by county in Ohio as to what the inspection entails I live in Franklin county (in Columbus) and to get the car registered there was no smog or tint inspection. I have some friends who live in Cleveland (Cuyahoga county) and they just have to do a smog inspection and they haven't had any problems with tint- thats not saying that isn't required to do a test on the tint, just that they haven't had any problems (the friend I'm thinking about has a BMW with tint but I'm not sure what %).
