So, Hollywood decided that Drive needed to be rebooted already?

How did they get all those great actors for secondary roles, then hire a terrible actor for the lead?

This is one of those deals where Hollywood execs want to increase the marketability of someone so they grab some passable script and surround the target with known A and B-listers. See also: Haywire with Gina Carano.

Except this is an Edgar Wright written and directed film, so it's probably none of those things that you just said at all.

Being Wright, it will probably riff on Transporter and play with tropes from the whole action-driving genre.

Exactly this. I'm mostly excited because of him having written it. This will be genius.

Plus there's a model of a Twin in the trailer, so the guy has an eye for detail. Will be seeing this Day 1.

Here's the international trailer. Watch it. Also YouTube comments say the movie is a lot different than what the first trailer would lead you to believe. Also parkour action.

Also Variety has a review already:

They filmed some of this by my old work, I didn't remember until he said "Dunwoody" which is actually where the bank is they used. They covered up all the real signage with fake ones for the shoot. From the police cars it looks like the story takes place in Atlanta. I hate the guy playing the lead, but maybe it will be entertaining.

I love my Hawkeye but it seems like it would make a slowish getaway car stock. That thing must have modded suspension at least to pull all those moves. :b

I know, right?

Still, I will go see this movie for the Subaru content alone.
