Status Racing Seats
OK, this is a first impression kind of review. Status Hockenheim. Unfortunatly the base plates are running late from the fabriactor so I can not install the seat just yet. But first impressions of just sitting the seat on the floor on putting my butt in it are as follows. Quality of materials is as good if not better than all $500 seats I have seen. The seat is extremely comfortable, espicially for a fixed back. I could take a nap in the thing. I love the way Status uses thru-bolts for the mounting points instead of just nuts embedded in the glass. Although only cosmetic, the glass finish is dang near mirror. Not a functional asspect but a nice attention to detail. Overdone would be a good way to describe the side mounts and sliders. Gauge thickness is overkill. Talking with Josh at Status he says the attention to detail will just get better. My seat is only the 8th Hockenheim shell made, and one of the first to get upholstered. My impatience pushed them to rush the fabric work. It is not perfect but is damn good. If you do not need a seat right now, but can wait a month or two for fabriacation then I would recomend this seat.

Looks really nice. I'm a fan of a plain simple black bucket seat. That looks like I may actually be able to fit in it too unlike another Status seat I tried to sit in before. I think I just need to drop a few lbs.

Status makes some great products, ive even seen what they do in a crash. They are super hard to get but once you do everyone seems to be happy with them. They are making some newer models that are wider to fit more people, my set should be showing up any week now.
