Default BOV leaking?

First of all, it's a STOCK BOV!

Usually first thing in the morning, when it's cold, when I hit boost I get a very high pitched squealing, easily heard inside the cabin. I don't really feel any power loss or less boost pressure, but I don't know what else it could be. Could it possibly be the airline to my boost gauge leaking? The squealing usually goes away after the car warms up fully.

'02 WRX. 92k miles.

Suggestions?

sounds like it could be an exhaust gasket.

get some seafoam and run it through the car. see if any smoke comes out from the engine bay. if it does, you got a leak

I dont think that it would be your BPV.... From the sounds of it what you are hearing is your belts slipping because they have not had a chance to warm up fully then the noise stops once they are warm. They my need to be tightened or possibly replaced depending on the condition of them.

That could be it... haven't changed any of the belts.
