Building a EJ22e.
I can't seem to find a non custom solution for the pistons. I also have no clue where the rods break.
Back story. I have a EJ22e / Ej205 Hybrid that was making 370+ wheel hp. I am pretty sure I cracked a ring land because driver side rear cyclendar is @ 65psi vs 172 on the rest. Car ran on E85 and never had a issue with knocking so I'm assuming I just reached the limits of the oldskewl NA Piston. I've found someone who has EJ22t pistons but I'm pretty sure it would lower my compression way to much. Has anyone else here built a EJ22e ? If so what did you use.

I know nothing... I have my '99 EJ22e that I'm going to be putting together sometime in the future with maybe STi or Eagle rods and custom pistons onto WRX 2.0L heads. |

I have ej22t pistons and rods, if you're interested.
Otherwise, why are you reluctant to go to custom pistons? They don't cost much more than off the shelf ones if at all. |

The rods don't usually break, it's the bolts that usually let go. The rods are pretty much the same as the wrx rods. Nobody has an off the shelf piston for an EJ22E.

Ok, sounds like pistons are the only route.
I'm going to toss this second ej22e together without a rebuild. Then I got a Ej205 and ej22e block sitting in the grage. Not sure what the best route is going to be to make 400awhp |

Wiseco K602M975 + STI Rods + .027 MLS gasket + S20 heads gives 8.0:1 compression ratio. If you need custom pistons for this application send me a PM.
