Default Porsche 914 Subie swap

Iím starting the groundwork on a Subie swap to my Porsche 914. At this stage Iím planning on going with a Subie H6 3.0 out of a 2004 Outback. Along with a 5-speed trans out of a 2002-07 WRX with a final drive of 3.90 or 4:11.

1) My understanding the transmission will bolt right up to the 3.0 without any adapters, is that correct.
2) Do you feel like it would be much simpler to start with a donor car for the engine, ECM, possibly throttle cable, etc. vs piecing it together?

thanks

(1) Yes, bolts right up.
(2) Probably wouldn't hurt. And I've seen comments on the intarwebs of people picking up salvage cars for dirt cheap. You'd have plenty of parts you don't need (basically, the entire structure of the car, interior, etc) that you could sell off to recoup your investment.
