I work down @ the Ford plant.

STM = SilverThorne Metallic. I'm never on Calumet Ave. so it wasn't me.

I live in that area, well, a little north of there. The hood just east of the plant is called Hegewich. The hood north of Hegewich is East side, that's where I live.

Did you know about the other Ford plant being built on Ave O?

It's actually going to be a "supplier campus" where tier 1 suppliers will keep materials and assemble sub assemblies for final assembly over @ Torrance. Penske is pretty integral in this project. We'll probably be managing all the inbound freight to the campus and the plant. We currently control ~ 75% of the parts but we might be in charge of alot more over there.

This "campus" will just let Ford save $$$ on inventory since the supplier will have it in their possession until it ships.

The new Xtrainer/500 project is behind schedule already due to drivetrain/design concerns. I know one of the launch team supervisors. He's saying it's not gonna be until late '04/early '05 before we see it. Again...FMC on the "cutting edge" of yesterday's ideas.

Yeah, the good thing is that they are finally going to fix the S curve. Hopefully, they do it right this time.
